Poll: Trump-Backed Adam Laxalt Shows Commanding Lead in Nevada Republican Senate Primary(sigh!)

Former Nevada Attorney General and current Republican Senate candidate Adam Laxalt, backed by former President Donald Trump, showed a commanding lead in the Nevada GOP primary, according to the most recent poll from Emerson College Polling/The Hill.

The poll showed that Laxalt has a 23-point lead over his closest competitor. Of the 1,000 very likely voters in the Republican primary, 50 percent said they would vote for Laxalt in the primary on June 14.

The closest Republican primary competitor in the polls is Sam Brown, whom only 27 percent said they would vote for. There were also four percent who said Sharelle Mendenhall and four percent who said someone else. But, there was also 15 percent undecided.

The poll emphasized that Laxalt would extend his lead to 56 percent with undecided voters allocated to prospective candidates, and Brown would extend his percentage to 31 percent.

The Emerson College and the Hill polls found that 54 percent of the respondents said Trump’s endorsement makes them more likely to vote for a candidate, making the former president a key factor in Republican party politics.

There was 37 percent who said the endorsement makes no difference, and nine percent said it makes them less likely to vote for a candidate.

“Laxalt has been endorsed by Trump, and he holds 63% support among those who say his endorsement makes them more likely to vote for candidate,” said Spencer Kimball, the executive director of Emerson College Polling.

Kimball noted that Laxalt “trails Brown among those who say the former president’s endorsement makes them less likely to support a candidate, 28% to 18%, and with voters who say the endorsement makes no difference, 41% to 39%.”

Sigh! Seems like PDJT just can't avoid crappy advisors. Not saying any endorsement by Trump is a no go for me. But since we're on the ground...... Laxalt? Nope! But much approved over cat masto. For gov, joe lombardo Clark County/LV sheriff? Nope! But much approved over sisylack. The main problem is that even from the depths of hades, hairy reid looms large still with the unions in Vegas so democommies have real good chance of having enough votes (again) in Vegas alone to win. Lookin' of 81 million votes?

Admittedly, I’m not up on NV politics but what’s wrong with Laxalt? His grandpa was a solid conservative, as was his dad (Pete Domenici).

Come on. Laxalt is our best hope. Primary doesn’t matter. It’s November. Is there a chance? Tough hill to climb.

Your view in the ground, please: are staffing levels down in the casinos like in much else in the economy? Do you think that there might be a significantly lower if casino workers left to bus to the polls?

They appear pretty well staffed to me. Occasional shortfalls in some departments but mostly geared up in the Reno area. Not sure about Vegas. Also seems like plenty of positions available if someone WANTS to work. And not just the casinos. Our primary voting is now mail-in with the option to vote in person. 😕

Well not in Nevada, but I can tell you Trump’s pick in PA is horrible.... His endorsement appears to have put him into first place, but barely. There does seem to be some late movement for the third place candidate, I hope she can pull it off, because OZ and McCormick are both just terrible...

If either of the top 2 candidates win the PA Primary, I would not be surprised that even though their is a massive red wave crashing this fall, if the democrats actually take this seat....

Would not surprise me at all. If either of these folks are the nominee, and the GOP retains this seat, then a ham sandwich would have won as long as it had an R beside it, they are BOTH terrible candidates, will not play well against Fetterman at all IMHO....

If they win its simply because anyone with an R would have won...

Oops.

“In 2019, Wiles was serving as Trump’s adviser in Florida for his 2020 re-election campaign until he fired her on September 17, 2019. Politico reported the severance was due to “the leak of internal correspondence showing how the new governor [Ron DeSantis] appeared to be selling access to special interests on golfing trips.”

They key to all of this is the prevent another great steal in 2024. If Trump’s support ensures that we have a fair presidential election then we can avoid a hot civil war. If there aren’t any honest enough candidates running to avoid this, then stock up on essentials. 2024 is for all the marbles, if the radical left doesn’t cause WWIII to break out in the meantime or find some other means to preventing another election to even occur.

It seems since Trump has started choosing endorsements, everybody that always blindly voted for the (R) in the past suddenly became a political genus to defy his picks.

You clowns sound like the political experts (like the vile vicious Mark Levin) that pretended to know exactly what Trump would be before he even announced.

By the time the mass of Freepers became disillusioned with Bushes, they didn’t somehow think the Bushes meant well but repeatedly took poor advice.

I am not sure what exactly you are trying to get at here.

I am on the ground in PA, McCormic and Oz both have spent counless millions trying to secure the nomination, but both are sitting at around 20% with another few candidates garnering another 20% and 40% undecided.... The PA election is in less than 2 weeks.... That alone tells anyone paying attention that neither of these guys are great candidates.. even among REPUBLICAN VOTERS and spending countless millions blasting ads for the last 4 months or so, they are stuck in the low teens/high 20s of support.

You don’t need to be a genius to see, that’s a CRAPTASTIC place to be less than 2 weeks out from an election... Both the front runners are lousy candidates... as someone who’s lived in PA since 1986, I can tell you all about lousy GOP candidates.

Trump is free to endorse whoever he likes, but as someone who’s lived through Specter, Santorum and Toomey, I can say without hesitation, OZ (who he did endorce) or McCormick (the other of the 2 leading the polls) are duds.. its not a matter of whether or not they will disappoint, just a matter of WHEN it will happen.

Supporting Trump is not the same as blindly embracing every move he makes.. I was one of the earliest supporter of Trump on this site back in 2016, and I am still a huge supporter of MAGA, but OZ if he wins, will bite MAGA on the arse, sooner or later, take it to the bank. He’s a louse candidate, he was absolutely owned in the last debate by the third place candidate... she schooled him.

Oz is a carpet bagger, he has no support in PA, because he’s not from here, his support are the low information females who like him because he was on TV.. that’s it.. McCormic is the same deal, no real power base... Both have NOTHING in common with the typical GOP voter in PA.. they are NOT going to play well outside of the Philly area, and Fetterman, the almost fcertain democrat nominee, who BTW is at around 54 or 59% polling for his primary, with a field of about 5 competitors.. is an absolutely dominating presence.

Oz with his little constant TV smirk (Gary Condit reminding) won’t stand a chance once people see him and Fetterman on stage together, same is true of McCormic, he’s not as slimy as Oz, but he’s not going to connect or excite anyone...

SO if either of these are the nominee.. you have what is effectively a generic R vs a Strong D... the only way the Generic R wins is if the mood and sentiment is so strongly anti D that it doesn’t matter who the R is, just as long as they aren’t a D... and that may be what happens this fall...there is no doubt that a giant red wave is coming...

That said however, if there is a race where I would not be surprised to see the Dems buck that overall trend, this race would be it... If Oz or McCormick are the nominee, I would not be surprised at all if Fetterman wins.

I have been stating this for quite some time, I look at this race as a bellweather, if Oz or McCormic is the nominee and they win PA, then that is an indication that the democrat brand is utterly worthless this cycle and Republicans are going to win up and down the ballot in places no one is even remotely talking about.... If however they are the candidate and Fetterman wins, it means the GOP is still going to have a good night, but its not going to be the all out route it could be.

Time will tell how it goes, but I am still not sure what point you are trying to make. I defy OZ because I live here, and I will be voting here, and I can tell you, OZ is a slimeball.. Trump is free to endorse him, but his endorsement won’t change my mind one iota, and I supported Trump very early on in 16, and fully intend to vote for him in 2024 if he runs... that doesn’t mean I think every decision the man makes is perfect or right... this one is very very bad IMHO.

"By the time the mass of Freepers became disillusioned with Bushes, they didn’t somehow think the Bushes meant well but repeatedly took poor advice."

Not just wrong, but wrong on many levels. Alberta's Child tried this brand of revisionist nonsense two months ago and lost the argument then, as you are about to lose the argument now.

1. Gore.
2. Lurch.
3. Keeping our foot on the neck of retarded baboons on the other side, when the mere idea of the deep state stretching out for a GOP hit yielded ... Scooter Libby.
4. Alito to SCOTUS.
5. No 8 years of Bush, no Obama, and therefore NO TRUMP.

There's no need for sophomoric revisionism when the last bit of decaying shrubbery in the Bush garden is George P., and he is about to be cut down by Ken "For Sale" Paxton.

Now you can be happy on more than one level -- you have meant well and yet despite being wrong, received 'good' advice.
