Probably yes. The cell towers know what cell any powered phone is located in, and can triangulate for more precision. The phone companies sell this data at a profit to an increasing circle of "researchers". Law enforcement is a major customer. Further, the cell towers decrypt the phone conversations and then send them in the clear over the backbone. All attempts at end-to-end phone encryption gets shut down by the deep state.
I think you might as well bite the bullet and get rid of the phone. You have to find out what it is you really need the phone for, and get alternatives - while you can.
I donât really see the bag working. You canât control the phone and never could. People saying âTurn off such-and-suchâ donât know what theyâre talking about. The phone can tell you that anything is âoffâ that it wants to, even while still using it. It can record anything, too. If it âheardâ or âsawâ it in the bag, it can report it later.
The bag or box or battery-removal will surely stop it - while it is in that state. Itâs kind of like not having the phone, at all. The phone can report its little black-out periods, too, and I am sure that there are those that would be interested.
Just something to think about.
