The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) bought access to location data harvested from tens of millions of phones in the United States to perform analysis of compliance with curfews, track patterns of people visiting K-12 schools, and specifically monitor the effectiveness of policy in the Navajo Nation, according to CDC documents obtained by Motherboard. The documents also show that although the CDC used COVID-19 as a reason to buy access to the data more quickly, it intended to use it for more general CDC purposes.
Location data is information on a device’s location sourced from the phone, which can then show where a person lives, works, and where they went. The sort of data the CDC bought was aggregated—meaning it was designed to follow trends that emerge from the movements of groups of people—but researchers have repeatedly raised concerns with how location data can be deanonymized and used to track specific people.

Turn off all constant app use of location services.
If you have an Apple phone, Apple Maps does not sell that information, but Facebook and all other apps you download, generally do.
Cell phones are a wonderful technology that has turned into a Dystopian nightmare.
I now self-identify as a Luddite.
Also, turn off background processing, which lets those apps send you data, even when you aren’t using them.
Did this include flip phones?

No one on this forum ever had any doubt that this was going to happen. If CDC does it, then how many other government agencies did it, and how many “private” businesses were ordered/paid to do it by the government?
They expect us to believe that the new DGB is going to monitor just the Russians?
The most important problem with intel is not collection, but in interpreting what it means — which, until recently, needed a human mind.
But now, with fast A.I., decisions can be made in vast numbers VERY quickly.
A.I. is able to drink from the fire hose, where mere people can’t.

I’m about ready to go to two cans and a string.
I've been advocating RF-blocking Faraday bags/pouches for cell phones for a long time. Hint: they are still available for purchase on line. Invest in one before they are banned. I actually use two, a smaller one fitting inside a larger one.
