Trump didn’t want to do it though. It still isn’t clear who did what there. The neocons make whoever becomes POTUS prove he will pull the bomb trigger. Obama later said he was good at killing people. He loved picking people off with drones even if some collateral damage occured.

Biden wasn’t too upset at the family he murdered in Afghanistan after his intel goofed up. Ice cream and puddin’ was waiting in his basement. Oh well, it was fun and easy too. All those military toys he left made up for the killins’.

Lets hope Biden’s management of wars got some improvement since the last time because he only has so much weapons in his big cache to buy people off or else we fry.

And Soros, aka Gyorgy Schwartz.
And Klaus Schwab.

Interestingly, all the countries with sanctions against Russia, were the same countries with the most stringent lockdowns. Almost as if they are aligning amongst globalist concerns. Meanwhile those same countries are importing third world trash and doing nothing to stop it.

I was curious to see the reaction to this.

For years we have bitched and moaned about presidents who took military action without congressional approval, when only congress has the authority to declare war, and now when someone in congress says let’s actually follow a constitutional process, the bitch and moan brigade comes out says it must be because we support war mongers.

Regardless of whether you like Biden or not, and I don’t, a commander in chief should have all options at his disposal. This is not a war declaration, but it defines a redline beforehand. Probably one of the smartest things suggested by a congress critter in a while. If they waited till after Putin uses WMDs it would just be one big fustercluck with Biden trying to babble at a Teleprompter about corn pop or something.

“A large portion of Free Republic supports Kinzinger and Biden and Cheney.”

I’ve been on FR about 20 years, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen ANYONE support Kinzinger or Biden on FR; and the only support for a Cheney was for Dick, and that was limited to the first few years of the Bush administration, and at that it was rather lukewarm.

Supporting Ukraine after it was invaded by Russia does not equate to supporting Kinzinger or Biden or Cheney; but it does support the US to the extent that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” I don’t know of any FReepers who have called for or who would support US troops in or above Ukraine under the current circumstances. Arming Ukraine is a different story. Remember, we armed the USSR against Germany (again, the enemy of my enemy is my friend), as it was in our interest to do so. But, the bottom line is that the US — as any country — has only interests, but not necessarily friends (though it can have “friendly relations”). It is in our interest that Russia be stopped. It is simple as that.

RE: Can’t speak for Saddam

Saddam’s used of chemical weapons gave been well documented by the Kurds themselves. First in Halabja and then shortly after the first Gulf War to kick Saddam out of Kuwait.

The question is this — did Saddam suddenly see the light and quit developing chemical weapons? Or did he move them out of sight?

All I know is the inspectors could not find any.

Yes! Let’s provoke those A$$holes so they can destroy all of our expensive toys and we have to produce and sell more.

Plus, we haven’t had a chance to use our expensive nukes either. It’ll be like the video games we play...../s

I saw it. Poster knows nothing about what he speaks. I had access to raw intel. Sarin gas was stored and used in Iraq under Sadam during the 80s and 90s and in Syria after OIF.

He was gerrymandered out of a district. Good thing for him, because he is widely despised in Illinois, and would have lost a re-election bid in a landslide.

Agree - the use by Saddam against the Kurds is a given and was done before the media had any reason to lie about it.

After that - who knows what happened to those weapons, other than that we couldn’t find them and, thankfully, they weren’t used on our boys.

“And no cries from the FR neocon and do-gooder factions...and I mean NONE...for US intervention in Darfur.
Which has at least the level of US national interests at stake.”

Which are?

Nukes are hard to fake (unless your country has a Ministry of Truth), but chemical and biological attacks are prime for false flag operations. The last thing we need is to incentivize rogue factions to drag us into the conflict.

Yes. I think we should wash our hands of the Middle East. Declare our neutrality.

"They're over here, because we're over there." - Pat Buchanan

Protect our borders. Let the Middle East (and Europe) fend for themselves.

"I wonder if this war is designed to be a distraction from what they are doing with the “great reset."

They want to start a war so they can steal the midterm elections. Democrats have historically gone after overseas military ballots, and having troops overseas fighting a war would be prime territory for their efforts to disenfranchise the troops.
