FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLIC RELEASE OPEN LETTER TO THE WHITE HOUSE 5-1-22 SILVER STAR FAMILIES OF AMERICA OPPOSES PLANS FOR USE OF V.A. RESOURCES AT THE BORDER
Dear Mr. President
It has come to our attention that there are discussions ongoing concerning diverting Veteran Administration resources from their intended purpose, to the southern border. (Sources noted below)
While the Silver Star Families of America, with its tens of thousands of members, is a nonprofit nonpolitical organization dedicated to our wounded, ill and injured veterans, we reserve the right to firmly oppose any administrations attempt to dilute or diminish medical care from those who have earned it with their blood sweat and tears.
To be honest this proposal, if true, is absurd and in our opinion illegal. It is a slap in the face of our veterans. Our organization will fight this with all our resources, including legal alternatives.
The solution to healthcare crisis on the border is simple: Follow the law of the land and stop the wave of illegal immigration.
We strongly urge you to put a stop to any talk or plan that hurts our veterans.

I thought you all would be interested in our response to the proposal to send V.A. resourses to the border. The fight is on.

Veterans and their survivors are screwed by the government regularly. Their claims are delayed and denied up to the point of death and after. (I know, I had to hire an attorney to fight for my husband’s Agent Orange disability benefits.)
Now the government wants to take $$$ away from their medical care funds?

I don’t know what happened to the VA (Biden) but they have been completely useless for the past year or more. My local office does not even answer the phones any more. You get a message promising to return your call within 48 hours. I have called dozens of times. Never a call.
