A RUSSIAN TV programme showed a simulation of a nuclear strike on the UK, as tensions over an atomic war grew.
Moscow has repeatedly warned about the dire consequences Western countries could face if they continue to supply arms to Ukraine.
On Thursdays edition of Channel One's 60 Minutes programme, the chairman of the nationalist Rodina party, Aleksey Zhuravlyov, suggested Russia could launch a Sarmat missile attack on the UK.
Producers then cut to a map of Kaliningrad and seemed to suggest that missiles could be launched from the Russian enclave between Poland, Lithuania and the Baltic Sea.
The implication was that the nuclear weapons could reach Berlin in 106 seconds, Paris in 200 seconds and London in 202 seconds.

If Putin is showing signs of that amount of insanity you can bet he’s not waking up from this upcoming surgery.
I bet they’re never gonna show the effects of 2000 nukes on Russia’s biggest cities.
May be propaganda but a dying crazy dictator, if cancer rumors are true, could care less about the world he leaves behind.
Is there another source to watch the Russian video? Not ‘accepting’ a foreign source tagging my computer just to watch the video.
And we’re stuck on pronouns.
‘Threads’ come to life..?
If Russia put this on TV where is the video clip? It’s not in the article.
Who’s to say his replacement won’t be worse? Some of those mentioned as replacements are more hardline than Putin.
Introducing, Kim Jong Razvalyuha Putin.
The West has a whole lot more to lose. This is stupid talk.
Dig you nuke sheller deep cause the Central US will be hit by the first volley.....
You have no concept on what you are talking about. Stupid talk over serious business.

Besides, Putin’s boyars aren’t his obedient robots. They don’t want to join him in Valhalla. If they need to, they’ll snuff him out, just as Beria killed Stalin. Brezhnev was Khrushchev’s handpicked protege. He colluded with Khrushchev’s other rivals to oust Khrushchev because the guy was getting into too many situations like the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Russians like the idea of expanding their empire. Killing Russia in its entirety by starting a nuclear war, however, would be a 100% reduction in the empire.
What Russians understand about war is that sometimes you cut your losses, and build up until a better opportunity arises. That’s what Tsar Nicholas II did when he lost a naval battle with Japan. At 70% of NATO combined, Russia has plenty of land. And it will have other chances at Ukraine and the rest of Europe - alliances, like borders, don’t last forever.
On that you’re correct. There’s always someone worse in the wings.
He has named his successor while he is under the knife and, presumably, if he has an ‘accident’ during the surgery, that guy will take over at least until the long knives come out.
Except that FSB guy is the one who pushed the whole ‘Nazi’ narrative about Ukraine on Pootie in the first place ... he’s even more hard line than Pootie.

The original 1960s plan was to use a simultaneous staggered approach: high/low, air/ground, blanketing the entire US in one gigantic firestorm burning off all the oxygen. Shelters will not help - just suffocated and baked like pigs in an oven.
“Three days to take Kiev.
Force Ukraine surrender within a week.
Victory Day parade with triumphant generals and troops!
Putin’s had smoke blown up his a## by his military for 20 years.
