Russian Submarine Strikes Ukraine With Cruise Missiles: Defense Ministry
Newsmax ^ | April 29, 2022

Russia used a diesel submarine in the Black Sea to strike Ukrainian military targets with Kalibr cruise missiles, the first time Moscow has announced the use of its submarine fleet to hit its former Soviet neighbor.

The Russian defense ministry released a video showing a volley of Kalibr missiles emerging from the sea and soaring off into the horizon - to what the ministry said were Ukrainian military targets.

This is the first time Russia's military has reported using submarine strikes against Ukrainian targets, Interfax news agency reported on Friday.

And what a collosal mistake that was.
***Kicking Saddam out of Kuwait was not a mistake. NOt rounding him up to give him the Noriega treatment, that was the mistake.

“They are not so silent they can not be heard from hundreds of miles away by SOSUS sensitive passive sonar. The twin screw Russian boats would leave a distinctive signature.”

Yup.

This proxy war in Ukraine is weakening the US economy with inflation and massive debt

That’s a little much, as JoeB and Ron Klein were managing quite well in that direction long before Ukraine.

Remember their Plan is to utterly destroy the USA, so finding an excuse to spend more is, for them, a great idea.

You are correct on both points, and there are numerous additional facts easily available illustrating the ignorance of ought-six.

I have no idea.

That would be a zero.

For me, the number is almost 400.

On the plus side, you do have ignorance and arrogance.

“That would be a zero.”

You sound like you are very young, and are prone to hyperbole when your narrative fails. Typical.

I grew up in Southern California. Pretty much every household had a WWII veteran head of household. My Dad was a colonel in the USAFR, a pilot. Our family interacted with scores of others, and talk usually got around to airplanes, and ships, and boats. The submariners generally reduced their comments to three things when talking about subs: Cramped; hot; stinky. And pretty much all of them said they got into subs because of the money (they were paid more, relatively speaking).

“For me, the number is almost 400.”

So? Talking with someone doesn’t make you them.

“On the plus side, you do have ignorance and arrogance.”

Nice try.

I’ve spoken with enough to know most submariners are a very odd bunch.

Yes, they are, that's why I specifically used the word "Inside" in my post.

But damn comforting to know they’re out there patrolling the seas wielding amazing firepower. It’s a shame the one who yields it is an utter nutcase.

Agree, and it's also comforting to know that the entire US Navy is so versatile, adaptable, experienced and dedicated that they WILL get the job done.

Oooh, I have indeed struck a nerve.

Recall that your whole tirade has been in response to my comment that “Silent Service” was the term applied to the submarine service because they were considered to be “silent” (as in stealthy) while operating submerged (of course, in reality they were not); but the term stuck. That’s just simple fact: Look up “Silent Service.”

Sorry dummy, you're wrong again.

"Silent Service" has nothing to do with the noise produced by an American Submarine in operation, despite what you've heard from those outside the Submarine Service.

"Silent Service" is the US Naval Submarine Service response to an error made by a a young Submarine Service Ensign in 1943, when he guided Congressman Andrew May on a tour of a Balao class boat.

That error, known to US Naval Submarine Sailors, but not generally outsiders caused this tragedy:

Congressman Andrew May Caused the Death of 800 Submarine Crewmen

The Ensign, without thinking, revealed the Test Depth of the Balao boat to the Congressman.

That's why Submarine Sailors are the "Silent Service", they now remain silent regarding critical submarine service data.

Hopefully it’ll soon be lying on it’s side on the bottom of the sea like the other “mighty” Russian naval junker.

LOL!

This site is now populated with some of the sickest excuses for human beings I’ve ever encountered. Never would I have believed before that “conservatives” supposedly espousing “Christian” values would actively cheer on the attack and attempt to exterminate another people by Russia.

After the installation of the Biden regime, I didn’t even look at this site for over 7 months. Took nearly a year to even post again. It was too depressing after Trump was gone.

I’m starting to regret coming back. I feel dirty and polluted after reading posts here actively cheering on murderous tyrant Putin.

I think for the benefit of my mental health I should stop reading this site for a (long) while. (And before anyone says it: I care even less what YOU think.😁 )

Russia’s nuclear arsenal is insignificantly larger. And ours is far more technically advanced than theirs.

(Theirs is mostly land based; ours is mostly sea based. Quicker, quieter, and stealthier.)

But thanks for unmasking yourself as a person who seems to despise your own country. What is happening in America is the fault of it’s own people.

The Azov sea is only 30 feet deep, more or less. Not sub friendly at all. The only shipping channels have been dredged. The rest of the BlackSsea ain’t much for deep either And I doubt if a sub could re-arm at Sochi, a nice ski resort. That would leave ship-to-ship re-arming and that would create a target rich environment. Our Sat guys seem to be feeding the Ukes dope on ship locations so I pretty much expect Ivan’s navy is running out of “game.”

Russia was already tied to China. Why do you think they agreed to hold off the attack on Ukraine until the Olympics in China were finished? Russia would have been much more likely to succeed if they had invaded earlier when the ground was still more completely frozen. They will pay for this delay, and perhaps China is counting on that as giving them a chance to “help” Russia in its far east and Siberia.

In the late 1940s my father spent many an evening going to meetings to fight Stalin’s attempts to take over the port of New York. Eventually a management payoff enabled the communist faction to take over his union.

This century I have had positical fights with people whose parents war part of that earlier NY fight. This is a long, long war and we cannot allow Putin his victory.
