Russia used a diesel submarine in the Black Sea to strike Ukrainian military targets with Kalibr cruise missiles, the first time Moscow has announced the use of its submarine fleet to hit its former Soviet neighbor.

The Russian defense ministry released a video showing a volley of Kalibr missiles emerging from the sea and soaring off into the horizon - to what the ministry said were Ukrainian military targets.

This is the first time Russia's military has reported using submarine strikes against Ukrainian targets, Interfax news agency reported on Friday.

Hitler analogies are not well regarded anymore, and Russia isnt Germany, but still -

In the 1935 Rhineland crisis the German military was a pathetic shadow of what it was in 1918, and couldn’t have faced down a single French Army Corps.

“And Russia definitely needs to continue interfering in the affairs of others /s”

Did I infer that? No. I don’t think Russia should be attacking other countries like I don’t think uncle Sam should be.

For some reason it’s ok when we do it, and when someone else does it on the other side of the globe we ensure to make it our business. $33b of OUR treasure for this nonsense? BullFauchy.

Our government is run by morons and quite frankly the majority of this country is inhabited by the same.

Hitler had no stated desire to conquer "The World."

I'm sure you know that.

“How deep is thee wter in the Bosporos?”

If I recall, the Bosphorus is around 350 feet. But it’s been 50 years since I was in Turkey. I just looked it up: It says it is 361 feet.

“Does Turkey have any submarines?”

I assume they do. I know we gave them some old diesel boats back in the 1960s. I think they’ve purchased some German boats since then.

“Do they have some kind of torpedos targeted into the Bosporos? How have they stopped passage of the Bosporos?”

It is very narrow as far as straits go. It is definitely a choke point.

[Yeah, you got it, You’re so very astute. Good luck with your Global Geopolitical machinations.

We always end up with a positive outcome when Foggy Bottom tries to make things “better.” ]

Foggy Bottom usually buries its head in the sand (e.g. letting Iran have nukes and giving Russia a pass on each of its previous conquests), so this response is actually above par. Ultimately, giving Ukraine enough gear to send Putin back across the border with his tail between his legs would be the optimal outcome. But given the way Biden’s instincts are Neville Chamberlain’s, he will drag his feet every step of the way on the types and volumes of equipment necessary.

So, you support the ruling establishment here, and what they are trying to enact?

What is your objection to helping a country which has been invaded over oil & gas rights, much like Saddam’s invasion which triggered a coalition similar to what we’re seeing form, that kicked his @$$ back to Iraq?

Anymore Im starting to think Neville Chamberlain was severely misjudged by history. At least he tried to prevent war. The sentiment of today is pull the pin and let it burn.

But in the end the world could use a good burning so who knows, maybe the WEF is actually on target for the wrong reasons.

LOL, "conquests?"

What, like Georgia?

But to be honest, weed is totally legal in Georgia, and it actually looks like apretty cool place. I guess living under the oppressive Russin jackboot isn't too bad, except for helping Vlad on his slow march to Global domination.

We went after Saddam because he was at the Saudi border with his troops or we likely wouldn’t have done much about Kuwaitt.

And what a collosal mistake that was.

For WHAT? So tough guys like you can wave the flag from your keyboard? No thanks. I served my time in the military, not worth dying over some other country’s problems.

My objection is that there is no existential threat to the US from Russia, OTHER than nuclear weapons. And through our actions, we are making more, not less, likely, that that existential threat may become real.

I know, pretty simple.
