I’ve come to terms that people, by and large, are political idiots. They vote name recognition most of the time. This is a big reason why incumbents win most of the time.

The far right will destroy Manchin.

So will the Far Left, and for that matter, the Democrat Deep state he has been thwarting along with Sinema.

Shrillary or Moochelle will be on the Democrat ticket in 2024. The Deep State will fund a Manchin/NeverTrumper independent ticket to siphon off votes from the GOP ticket especially if it’s Trump or DeSantis leading it. That’s the way I see it in 2024. The Deep Staters will not let Trump or DeSantis win.

Manchin would not fit in here but he saved the country from an absolute catastrophe. If he had gone along with breaking the filibuster the train wreck we
Have now would look like a nice day at the beach.

Biden, thought to be a sure loser, declined to run in 2016, thus clearing the way (eventually) for loser Hillary. Loser Hillary didn’t run in 2020, thus clearing the way for (thieving “winner”) Biden who ran for office from his basement. Must Biden step aside again for Hillary to run in 2024? Why can’t Biden just run for re-election from his basement, just like before? Or must we continue to be treated to the Quadrennial Donkey Party Candidate Switcheroo?

There is a way. Kamala kicked upstairs to SCOTUS, Mancin takes her seat and Biden resigns at some point, citing health reasons and thereby giving President Mancin incumbency. They’re desperate enough. Mancin will be 77 in ‘24 btw. His VP will be important.

How does Joe Manchin realistically compete for the Democrat nomination, when he’s so out of touch with the liberal radical base of the party?

That would be the one primary where the dems would have no choice but let bernie win the primary and take the "L" in the general election.

The radical leftist base would coalesce around bernie and most of the black dem voters will probably avoid voting altogether in the general as a protest. Bernie does not seem to resonate among the black dem voting base, but perhaps they can be told to "take one for the team" knowing that bernie will be able to be controlled and forced to kowtow to the black base if he wins.

West Virginia is a Democratic Party outlier and Manchin will not get anymore support in the largest Democratic bastions of the country anymore than he has the support of the Senators and representatives from those parts of the country, most of whom are furious at him.

But if Trump asked him to be V.P. in 2024, THAT would make 2024 a mind blowing year, as Dims displeased with their woke majority would vote for the ticket just to vote for Joe.

I have believed for a while that Manchin has been positioning himself to be the “reasonable” Democrat in a run for the White House.....

Tub grabber joe? He co-wrote anti 2A during obamas terms. He is the worst kind of leftward, someone who the constitutional voters forget is their sworn enemy because they can’t read his record.

The rats need to keep their people together. Mancin would do it. Just knock some heads together They have the guys. Try Carville for starters. Then there’s the guy who doesn’t think women are good at math.
