A 6-year-old boy in Connecticut has been hospitalized with second- and third-degree burns after his family said a bully covered a tennis ball with gasoline, lit it on fire and threw it at his face.
The incident unfolded Sunday afternoon when Dominick Krankall was playing in the backyard of his family’s Bridgeport home on Louisiana Avenue with other children who live near them.
Preliminary reports indicate that up to four unattended children were seen playing with gasoline and lighting objects on fire the day of the incident, the Bridgeport Office of Emergency Management said in a statement.
Dominick’s sister told NBC New York her brother was playing in the backyard when "the bully called his name and lured him over around the corner."
"In a matter of seconds he came back around the corner screaming, saying, ‘Mommy, they lit me on fire,’” the sister, Kayla Deegan, said, according to the news station.

Just like everything else in this age, things that were formerly believed to be “normal” - like bullying, right? “It’s NORMAL! You just need to STAND UP TO THEM!” - have turned into a moral and ethical challenge.
Bullying isn’t that typical when one considers that parents used to be able to go after bullies themselves if it was too much for the kids to deal with. But now you can’t as an adult scare some bully or group of bullies away from your kid yourself - and trying to reason things out with the bullies’ parents might get you shot. Now you’re supposed to go to the school and try to fix the whole problem from there. (And then you change schools, and so on and so on.)
Public school, where girls and boys are forced to attend classes together and kids from all kinds of families are forced into a tense situation where they have to try to behave and get along and THEN learn something - that’s the real problem.
This type of milieu is celebrated in entertainment, including bullying and kids being sexual with each other, so that makes it worse. And there are lots of things on TV and the internet that encourage youth to set up bizarre stunts (like “jackass”) and to do extreme or outrageous things to each other in a bid for attention. Currently there are multiple videos of kids murdering other kids on facebook, for example.
Yeah, kids “need” socialization and picking on each other is part of that. But the, I guess you would call it climate, in today’s public school is very stressful and tense, so a normal low level of kids picking on each other is aggravated by all kinds of factors.
Public school is the problem. And it’s not a problem that’s going to be solved with more taxpayer dollars. Lots of kids don’t benefit from school at all and need more supervision so they can be productive members of society as adults, or at least stay out of trouble. Currently, many of these become monsters who “graduate” to more and more horrible acts and our society is absolutely full of them.
Bridgeport CT has an Iranistan Ave. The town looks like it was in a war with Iranistan.

Part of the city looks like a war zone.
Part of the city looks civilized and “normal”.
I leave it as an exercise for folks to figure out who lives where.
The thing that did this to this little boy cannot be allowed to stay in society. If it’s evil enough to do this at this age just think what the useless piece of crap will do when he’s older.

The one threat that used to scare us straight was “Reform School” or for recent generations “Juvenile Detention”...now there is simply release back to the parents with some bogus counseling sessions.
It is truly heartbreaking. What the hell is the matter with these “children”? Are their parents raising monsters? Prayers for physical and mental healing for little Dominick.
You are exactly right. The thing about it is that poor little boy will probably be tortured and tormented by the same bully in school. The schools will turn a blind eye and when this little fellow tries to do something about it he will be the one sent to guidance for “anger issues”.
I used to be one that did not advocate violence but the older I get the more I realize SPJNK or a severe butt kicking.

Had a paper route when I was a kid and had one of the double bags that carried papers front/back and left it on the corner due to how heavy it was. Came back and it was gone. Neighborhood dick was across the street with it. Went over, punched him in the face, grabbed my bag and continued on my route. Never had another issue with him.
We had some asians move into the neighborhood below us — we were up a big hill, in a separate neighborhood. There had been a pathway to 3 different schools across that property.
I came across a tree that had been cut down and set across the pathway to block it. The kids in my neighborhood were helping me to clear it, saying such things as “who the hell did this” followed by “who the hell cares?”
Just then a chinese adolescent confronts us kids. We didn’t know what to make of it, we found my older brother whom I had thought to look for protection from bullying violence. But I didn’t realize he was a bullshiitting pacifist.
The chinese wimp pulls out some nunchuks, whips them around in impressive fashion, asks my muscular older brother, “when you wanna fight, huh?” My brother goes into ‘we can work this out’ mode, pulls off.
The only person this affected was me. All those other kids were going to the local junior high, which was further away, no longer walking distance.
I did not realize this but it was a big opportunity. But that is one of those opportunities God gives you knowing that you’ll never see it, rather than showing us how to see the opportunity and then giving it to us. God kinda has a cruel streak in that way.

***I realized afterwards, relatively long afterwards, that people who say “who cares” are in a position to say it whereas people who are in the midst of the shiite don’t say such things. That’s one of the ways you can tell the difference between a REMF and a deep-in-the-shiite grunt.

I may have misinterpreted your story, but it sounds like the private property owner decided he didn’t want people walking on his property and he cut down one of his own trees. It also sounds like the Chinese guy was family of the owner and didn’t want you on his property.
Am I missing something?
