Just got Internet today at my new digs in San Luis Obispo. I've been incommunicado for the past week.
Bravo! Great score!
You’ve been missed. I was afraid one of you were ill or something. Glad you’re back. All is well there?
We’re fine. Just unpacking and settling in.
Heck, I haven’t been able to find the cattle prod that’s supposedly in the barn. LOL It’s too full of hoarded stuff and it’s impossible to find anything in there.
Hubby’s the light sleeper here and that’s a good thing, just in case ....
It did worry me when I was single that I sleep so hard. If someone broke in, I wouldn’t have heard them. Fortunately, it never happened.
I hope it’s a comfortable place and that you enjoy your time there.
Well, rats! Guess we’re going to have to go searching for that prod and throw some stuff away. LOL! LOTS of stuff.
It is always good to have at least one light sleeper. I think the house would just burn down around hubby. I’d smell the first whiff of smoke.
Heck, I haven’t finished dealing with the mess in Clara’s house yet. I’m not about to tackle the barn. LOL I haven’t been in Clara’s house for about a year now. It’s overwhelming and I’m not a young ‘un any more.
I hope Hubby would wake up to the smell of smoke. Here alone, the house would burn down around me too. LOL
I think by this point I’d just leave the stuff to have the buildings fall down upon them and then have the whole thing bulldozed. LOL! It would certainly be overwhelming...not to mention the accumulated dust and heaven knows what else.
If you’re as big a fan of Yul Brenner as I am I’ve got two more MUST SEE films for you to watch, both sleepers, both impressive performances.
First, “INVITATION TO A GUNFIGHTER”, a very complex psychological-sociological post Civil War western with a great cast. A GREAT FILM!
Second, “KINGS OF THE SUN”, co-starring GEORGE CHAKIRIS, the guy that played BERNARDO, leader of the SHARKS in the first filming of “WEST SIDE STORY” (I always thought that he was one of the most handsome men on the screen and still can’t figure why he didn’t have a bigger career. Maybe he got feed up with Hollyweird). Brenner, plays an Indian warrior, a chief, clad in a loin cloth throughout the film, totally buffed out! When he walks, he projects the grace and dangerous menace of a leopard, or young tiger. A beautiful, healthy powerful animal. I say this as an extremely heterosexual man. I would think a woman, or a homosexual man would appreciate his animal beauty even more so. It’s a good film, better than it first appears, and Yul Brenner, is just something awesome to behold.
Watch them both. You’ll thank me.
Keep the Faith.
LOL That’s pretty much my attitude at this point. It wouldn’t be so bad if I had help but Hubby’s done VERY little over there.
But I’ve run across a few interesting things and wonder what else I might run across. The newspaper dated 1914 with articles about WWI was a neat find. We donated that to the museum.
Hard quiz, only got 3 out of 10. Really stumped on that one.
((LOL))
How's everyone doing this morning?
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Were you able to get through yesterday’s outing without Gizmo getting into more mischief?
Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll sure look for them, too, though I am not a huge western fan. I did love The Magnificent Seven when I saw it all those years ago.
Chakiris WAS good looking. I’d forgotten about him. Poor guy. I just searched for him. He has an interesting jewelry collection.
Howdy, EGC! ((hugs))
It was a pretty hard quiz all right, but thanks for taking it with us. Hope you and Gizmo had fun at the lake today. Is it still kind of cool up there like it is here?
Folks, when you go fishing, always be sure to dispose of all your fishing lures properly. Don't leave them lying on the ground. Dogs are notorious for seeing things on the ground as snacks. Lead things are poisonous.
The vet did give Gizmo some antibiotics. He's almost back to his old self now.
We did have a spectacular visit to Chisolm Trail Park yesterday.
No Life or Post magazines. Primarily a bunch of Prevention magazines and Reader’s Digest. Hubby hauled those off to the burn pile early on.
Not a lot of valuable things in there. Keep in mind the family have been farmers for several generations. Not wealthy by any means.
There’s just a LOT of stuff.
I fell into that 50 tonight. Pure luck. LOL
Looks like it was a lovely day for your outing.
Glad Gizmo is ok. Just need to keep a close eye on him while he wanders. Can’t count on others to be responsible types. Way too many aren’t.
I love to read the old magazines and look at the ads and how things have changed over the decades.
I guess I’d better finish up the show I’m watching and head out. It’s really later than I thought. LOL! See ya tomorrow!
Nothing worth looking at in those Prevention magazines.
There’s one old catalog - thin like a magazine - that I did hang onto. From around 1900, I think. It’s still over there so I can’t look. There are a few dresses I wouldn’t mind wearing. I like vintage clothing but have nowhere to wear anything like that.
I’m surprised you stayed up this long. Must have found some fun shows to watch. Sleep late tomorrow!
