Ukraine war: Russia accuses UK of provoking attacks on its territory
https://www.bbc.co ^ | 4/26/2022 | By Adam Durbin

The Russian government has accused the UK of "provoking" Ukraine into attacking Russian territory.

Russia's defence ministry said it was ready to hit "decision-making centres" in Kyiv should such attacks occur.

The presence of Western advisers at such centres might not affect its decision to retaliate, it added.

It comes after a UK defence minister said it was "not necessarily a problem" for Ukraine to use UK-supplied arms against military targets in Russia.

James Heappey said Ukrainian military strikes to disrupt supply lines were a "legitimate" part of war, and described Russian claims of Nato being in conflict with Russia as "nonsense".

Russia has claimed Ukrainian forces have attacked targets within its territory, including an oil depot in Belgorod, but Ukraine has not confirmed any strikes.

Patton was right. Should’ve taken them on in 1945 when we had the troops, ships, planes and weapons over there to do the job. And we were the sole nuclear power.

As it is, we’re slow walking ourselves into a very nasty fight that could touch off a nuclear war if Russia fears they have no other choice.

Ha! Russia doesn’t have the stones to dare attack the U.K. Getting into a shooting war with NATO would be an absolute disaster for Russia, and a wet dream for Zelensky.

True, but Russia can flatten to the ground Kiev or any city, any time they wish. Vlad is demonstrating a huge amount of reserve.

Only if he uses nukes, and choosing not to use nukes is hardly a "huge amount of reserve."

I’m not trying to persuade anyone. I just stating the obvious. It’s a free country, believe what you want. The rest of us can actually see what’s going on....but you go do you.

The problem with Britain is that it is an irrational combatant, akin to Iran and North Korea. For one thing, they had nuclear weapons ready during the Falkland war to save themselves the embarrassment in case they are going to start losing.

They were actually only nuclear depth charges...very questionable how they would save embarrassment

Apparently Britain has its own flavor of stupid-assed neocons.

I get your drift, but to act as if he’s been the nice guy is
really absurd.
———
I have been in a war, ditch your emotions, there are no “ nice guys” in war. That said, Vlad has excercised restraint from levelling cities, he could have taken out Kiev water supply, electricity, sewage, gas, but left infrastructure intact.

Look at non western MSM pics of Mariupol, leveled, flattened, not much spared, he sent a message to the Neo Nazi stronghold’s, the clue was when I read Kadyrov was directing the Marioupol assault.Mariupol was the single largest Neo Nazi stronghold, Azov battalion training centers, barracks, etc…they are now “:denazified”….a pile of rubble.

He’ll be even more reserved once he’s dead.
———-
I trained Ivan’s in Moscow for three years, you are stupid ( sorry). Do you have ANY idea who is favored to replace Vlad? I didn’t think so. I do, all three candidates are ultra nationalists, Vlad is tame compared to them.

Be very, very careful what you wish for.

Then Russia will have committed suicide.
———
You are very mistaken. I worked in Moscow training Ivan’s for three years. Virtually every Krushev apartment block has underground bomb shelters, stocked. Every airport, every hangar, every school…they will survive much better than the US. Our CD ( Civil Defense) was cancelled and abandoned back in Clinton’s time. We have NOTHING, no stocked underground units, nothing.

It’s humorous to read some people’s excuse for logic these
days.

Mariupol is smack dab in the middle of the land mass at the
southern border of the Ukraine. It sits on the land area
that is on top of the AZOV gas preserves. That land mass
is the area that has frontal access to those preserves under
the sea adjacent.

He’s not there for the NAZIs, using NAZI tactics. He’s
there to annex the AZOV Gas Preserve.

Mariupol is the last city standing between him and doing
that. One of his top officials stated that Russia wants
that land to connect to an area in Moldova.

Putin is now in the process of annexing all of the Ukraine’s
ports and that preserve. What that had to do about Russian
security is lost on me.

I’m certain you folks can explain how we forced Russia to
connect to Moldova also.

To do that, he’s going to have to take Odessa and that
region also.

Russia had approximately 1.35 million active military personnel as of 2022, compared to 500 thousand in Ukraine. The number of aircraft at the disposal of the Russian army was close to 4.2 thousand, while Ukrainian armed forces possessed almost 320 aircraft“

Thank you, it needed posting. The Ukie war cheerleaders have absolutely no idea….you left out Ivan’s artillery, Janes/ experts estimate well over 120,000+ -, some say much more if their “Tula “ inventories are pulled out of storage.

I guess it’s just normalcy bias but no one wants to
acknowledge that world war III. has already started.
I’m old, I know I won’t survive it maybe that’s why
it seems plain to me.

I keep expecting Cannae. Draw the Ukraine deeper into
the east then attack their lines of communication from
north and south. Sew them up into a pocket and the
game is over.

Then again Putin and Biden will some how manage to
bring the rest of the world in on a bad hand.

That sounds like a reasoned tactic.

As for Putin and Biden, I’m hoping that can be avoided.

Hopefully we get control of Congress this fall, and we can
steer clear of more involvement over there.

If our side comes up with a great plan to get involved, we
can just hand in our card. I won’t want to play anymore.

I’m not here to fight with friend and foe alike, simply
because I don’t approve of wars on a whim, even though
some folks like to make it seem like more.

I can’t guarantee this war is anything much more than
an old man’s ego at this point. People in Russia seem
to want to back a strong man, and perhaps that’s what
Putin sought to tap into. Not sure...
