They’re too busy with covid 19-84. The Chicoms know that.

Every leader in the world has seen just how weak The Big Guy...and his Party...are.That's why corrupt leaders are willing to come under Red China's thumb and why the Butchers of Beijing are willing to buy poor countries.

Mao always called us a "paper tiger". It would have been more accurate for him to say that our Rat Party,Britain's Labour Party and various "Green" parties are paper tigers.

And that's far more true today than it was in the 60's.

AUS is one country I could get behind. BBQs, Chevies(Holden) and Babes.

the fact that the Chinese are not afraid of Australia.

But they are terrified by India? The Chinese will not attack anyone - the costs at home would be too great. Each dead son represents one extended family without income.

The Chinese people are already seeing through the “infallible leader” with these nationwide zero covid tolerance policy Xi promulgated (its not just Shanghai). And are fed up to the point of revolt. Just one more shoe drop and its curtains for Xi.

Then there is the whole issue of low morale, poor training, horrible logistics, coupled with no combat experience across the entire PLA. They have neat toys, but toys do not hold ground.

It should be the other way around - the Chinese should be afraid of the Australians.

The situation in the Solomons is the reason you pay your spy service.

What happens when Honarias no. 1 export, empty WWII era coke bottles, rusty canteens and old helmets, becomes depleted?

I used to own a 71 Chevy Nova - Holden Monaro

I like the 55/6 Chevy better than the more popular 57 - Holden FC

Olivia, Teresa, Anna

And beer and ribs on the barbie. Up until recent years, I've always thought AUS was the country most like the USA.

They even played cowboys and Indians on the "frontier".

They might not be afraid of the Australians, or the Japanese, or the Indians, or America, or Europe but they are very afraid of a coalition comprised of Australia, Japan, India, America and Europe. China is trying very hard to hide the fact that it’s economy is collapsing and they are a desperate animal...

Each dead son represents the end of the family gene pool. The Chicoms haven’t had enough time to turn around and recover from their disastrous 1 child policy.

I wonder why we are not playing this up in our media?

Why our leaders aren't talking more about this?

We don't want this and we're the big boy on the block whose lead Australia, New Zealand, Japan and S. Korea follow in that Pacific Rim.

We're basically the leader of ANZUS: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ANZUS (Add S. Korea and Japan to the list - even though not members).

Hmmmm. Let me think... Russia complains about Ukraine on their border being a NATO member state... But then we get pissed and try to block the Solomon Islands (6,114 miles from the South of our West coast) because we see that as China entering our “sphere of influence.”

We should tell the Australians, do not worry. Solomon Islands are a “sovereign state” and they are a “democracy.” The people have spoken and we need to accept this. Besides, it's 1,117 miles from Australia's border and that's all water and it's not like they have major road and rail lines that run right up inside them. It's not like you could launch a high speed missile and hit Sydney in 6 minutes from there. It's not like it would impact our nuclear deterence. And the Solomon Islands are freindly "where we can go and see" and small, so it's not like the Chinese can hide things there from us. We shouldn't worry. If we tell Russia not to worry, then we shouldn't worry.

So much idiocy in such a short post - ever heard of Guadalcanal? One island that's part of the Solomons where the Japanese built an airstrip. That airstrip was the first direct threat on the lifeline between the United States and Australia.

The Chinese have the same objective in mind and threatens our south Pacific alliances.

Yes, Australia is right to be ready to fight if this happens - as will we.

Russia was not threatened by NATO members on its borders: that's an excuse for the ever-aggressive Russians to seize the Ukraine and anybody else they feel like for the territory, the resources, and industries.

People without an education in history - and the critical role the United States must play - are useless noisemakers and the same sort of people who made WWII inevitable.
