Putin has launched a major salvage operation to the wreck of the downed Black Sea Fleet flagship to secure military secrets including coding devices, unexploded missiles, and possibly even attempt to bring the bodies of dead sailors back home, naval experts have claimed.

An eight-ship salvage flotilla including Kommuna, the world's oldest active warship, and submarine has been sent to the site of the sunken Moskva 80 miles off the coast of Odessa from Sevastopol, the large naval base in Russia-annexed Crimea, according to a report by Forbes.

Any country would “race” to recover something like this.

The Americans did the same with the F35 floatie olane.

There main purpose is to catch “famous” slutty chicks dressing slutty in public.
Aside from that, they serve no purpose intellectually.

But how can that be, since we've been assured by Russia that it wasn't sunk, that it didn't sink, that it wasn't hit by a missile, that it only had a minor fire on board, and the crew was evacuated for its safety, then the ship was towed back to port, but oh, wait, it sank while being towed. And no one died. They just can't come to the phone right now when their family members call.

What they can do is dependent on how deep the wreck is.

The Black Sea basically has three areas. Its main body bottoms out at around 2,000 meters, far too deep to recover most anything. In its northwest is a much shallower area, and in its northeast is the much shallower Sea of Azov, which is still part of the Black Sea.

Now if I were a Ukrainian, I’d know exactly where 8 Russian ships would be, dead in the water, static targets...

Out of curiosity, I looked it up. The Kommuna was launched in 1915. And no, that’s not a typo. Tsar Nicholas II was in power, and Lenin was just another failed revolutionary hiding in the shadows.

” Its main body bottoms out at around 2,000 meters, far too deep to recover most anything. “

The K-129 was over 5,000 meters deep.
