American Churches are Killing Christianity
American Thinker ^ | M.B. Mathews

Posted on 04/23/2022 3:08:57 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

[T]oday’s churches are increasingly offering the same get-out-of-hell-free cards the culture offers; whatever you do is good because you are being "true to yourself" and are "following your heart" and "your truth."

That is not Christianity; that is enhanced 60’s hedonism. Want to be gay? Why not? Want to be a woman, just shave, grow long hair, take hormones, dress up, wear padded bras, and join the Navy and the women's curling team. Want to mess with little kids? Have at it, but make sure parents don’t find out. Want to be an anti-white racist, a cop-hater, a Marxist, or a corrupt pro-Russia politician with a job that pays hundreds of thousands of dollars a month because daddy lives in the White House? Go for it. Want to make personal happiness your priority? Why not? After all, what is more important than being happy? Want to avoid being insulted or suffering any form of anxiety? We will move heaven and earth to give you that safe space. Want to shut people up you disagree with? Great, happy to close down our business or website because your delicate sensibilities are offended. Want to deny that Satan exists? Better still. In fact, best.

Too many of our churches have watered down Christianity into a church of cowards, too cowed to speak up. They are told that "Jesus would never behave that way." Jesus behaved exactly that way. He was strong, not wimpy. He got angry, He didn’t slink away when confronted with disbelief and evil. He challenged His followers to give up everything for Him, to be strong and courageous, not to wuss out. He went to the cross for fallen, sinful human beings and never shrank from His mission like many of today’s churches are doing.

It is not up to the pastor to balance anything. It is up to the pastor to preach Truth in love. When the unvarnished Word is preached it will be effective. It is up to us to preach Truth what happens thereafter is up to God

The non-woke church locator:

https://www.9marks.org/church-search/

These are churches committed to recapturing NT Christianity, placing the Bible as the sole authority in all matters of faith and its practice.

“9Marks” is derived from the term used in his book, “9 Marks of a Healthy Church,” by Mark Devers. These churches adhere to the marks because they are biblically prescribed.

Uh bus rides, sports, band, any of the “clubs.” You’re right. In some cases, it’s more than nine hours a day.

I actually like the clubs and bands and extra activities. However, it’s all attached to being dominated by those who are “educating” within the center so….

Drums on the platform? Outta there.

It could be worse...

Psalm 150:4 KJV

Praise him with the timbrel and dance:
praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

Roman Catholics are at the top of the list as far as corruption, participating in illegal immigration at the expense of their tithing, churchgoing membership, being involved in organized crime in general, and - of course - enabling globalism. Other churches (so-called) are involved but don’t have the sheer economic and international clout of the RCs.

Tax exemptions for churches - this needs to be reviewed. These guys are getting stinking rich off their promotion of poverty, illness, and crime. (And now perversion, too!)

And Scientology isn’t even a church! There is no object of worship in Scientology - clearly they are only in it for the dollas. They received a tax exemption by bribing and blackmailing IRS agents. They don’t have that many active members - the estimate is only 20,000 active scientologists worldwide - but they have a LOT of money.

“Catholic Charities and the democrats are in bed with each other. Taxpayers are paying for church groups which serve as NGOs to bring in illegals.

It’s not just Catholic charities. Check out the evangelicals, the Lutherans, the Episcopalians.

They are ALL anti Christian. Just visit DC and drive be these churches, they all fly rainbow flags, BLM flags, etc. as left as you could possibly get.

They are not Christians, they are money grubbing communists.

Most of their so called clergy are filled with lesbians and homosexuals.”

*****

Amen, Chuck N!

Here is real event: couple comes to church and is met by church member at the entrance who knows they are unmarried and living together. The member scolds them for their lifestyle and the couple leave never having heard a sermon or prayer.

They are not killing Christianity, they are killing organized religion. I “left” the Episcopal “church” when they installed a gay “bishop”. But my faith remains intact.

In Arizona at least, most SBC churches are not in any way “woke”. The ones that are, though, try to hide being in the SBC.

The self-licking ice cream cone of SBC “leadership”, however...I think they’d support homosexuality if they didn’t know the $$$$ would dry up ASAP.

You are reaching.. Exactly how many churches keep those members and allow them to confront people at the front door?

Otoh they told the couple the truth.

If that couple is chosen by God , they will repent and marry or move apart. If not, why let the church be diluted with "in your face" sin? How many Sundays should a christian church accept a homosexual couple in their congregation? No difference between straights and gays living together.

If the bible says its a sin, it's a sin, regardless of your or someones else's feelings.

OTOH, it’s the job of the Holy Spirit to convict them of their sin.

We were commanded to preach the gospel, not berate likely unbelievers with legalism.

“..If I had been there, I would have gotten up and walked out, right in the middle of it....”

Same happened to me about 4-5 years ago where I used to attend. And yes, I did: I got up, walked out right in the middle of it and never went back. When approached by the so-called pastor as to why. I told him why; not Biblical, no respect for God’s Spirit, no salvation, no holiness, no righteousness, no prayer...no nothing; except religion-based, feel-good wokeness: just another modern day, liberal, American church. It was more of a social club than a church, except with a church tax exemption. And that my FR friends ended that conversation.
I ended up attending a little Pentecostal Holiness church not too far down the road from me that adheres to the Word of God. I must admit that going there for the first time, I felt like I had stepped back thru time a 100 years...LOL. Is it perfect? Nope. Does it preach the Word? Oooh yeah, under a heavy anointing.
FWIW, since COVID, BLM/Antifa riots, wokeness, grooming etc., our little church has almost doubled in size; mostly young couples with kids. All of em hungry for God. A group of the younger ladies with kids got together to combine their individual home schools together allowing their kids a godly alternative to what they’d be exposed to in the public schools today. I suspect that at some point, it will grow to where it will have to be registered as a private Christian school.
