[T]oday’s churches are increasingly offering the same get-out-of-hell-free cards the culture offers; whatever you do is good because you are being "true to yourself" and are "following your heart" and "your truth."
That is not Christianity; that is enhanced 60’s hedonism. Want to be gay? Why not? Want to be a woman, just shave, grow long hair, take hormones, dress up, wear padded bras, and join the Navy and the women's curling team. Want to mess with little kids? Have at it, but make sure parents don’t find out. Want to be an anti-white racist, a cop-hater, a Marxist, or a corrupt pro-Russia politician with a job that pays hundreds of thousands of dollars a month because daddy lives in the White House? Go for it. Want to make personal happiness your priority? Why not? After all, what is more important than being happy? Want to avoid being insulted or suffering any form of anxiety? We will move heaven and earth to give you that safe space. Want to shut people up you disagree with? Great, happy to close down our business or website because your delicate sensibilities are offended. Want to deny that Satan exists? Better still. In fact, best.
Too many of our churches have watered down Christianity into a church of cowards, too cowed to speak up. They are told that "Jesus would never behave that way." Jesus behaved exactly that way. He was strong, not wimpy. He got angry, He didn’t slink away when confronted with disbelief and evil. He challenged His followers to give up everything for Him, to be strong and courageous, not to wuss out. He went to the cross for fallen, sinful human beings and never shrank from His mission like many of today’s churches are doing.

Shut up, troll.
‘Do not post to me Free Republic ^ | 8/28/07 | Admin Moderator Posted on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 5:47:37 PM by Admin Moderator http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1888013/posts
We’ve received many requests from freepers requesting that other freepers not post to them. There are several problems with this.
1. It’s impossible for us to enforce.
2. We don’t have the time to enforce these requests.
3. We don’t have the software to keep track of these requests.
4. Thick skin helps.
5. Ignore the poster, if you don’t reply, they won’t reply.
Free Republic does not need a bozo filter, bozo filters are for wimps.

Go back to ABC.

You’re engaging in the same kind of harassing behavior you did years ago.
***You pay entirely too much attention to me. That’s kind of creepy, in a harrassing sort of way.
You’re not a conservative, you’re pro-homosexual,

I know that, no matter what kind of act you put on here.
***Uhh, when have I EVER put up a pro-abortion post. EVER. Go ahead, should be simple enough for you to find.

No, not here. You’d get your ass kicked.
I see the troll isn’t backing up his incredible claims. What a first class jerk.
I see you have passed over all my other points, thus conceding them.

Your posts always encourage me to strive to be better.
Everything you posted is completely appropriate and is an excellent summary I am saving for future use.
Thank you, brother-in-Christ!

“...and by which faith the believer is completely forgiven...”
Point of Order:
NOBODY is forgiven by faith; Paul wrote to the Corinthians in 2 Cor. 5:19 that “in Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting men’s trespasses against them...”; it’s a DONE DEAL whether anybody has faith to believe it or not.
This is why, in Peter’s great sermon in Acts 2 he DOES NOT tell the people that they must ask God to forgive them, but says, instead, “repent, and be baptized into the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.” The forgiveness was done unilaterally, and universally by God on The Cross in carrying out the Divine Justice that was due each of us upon the Person of Jesus Christ.
The Message of Reconciliation is NOT a message of what people CAN have IF..., it’s a message of what God ALREADY did for them DESPITE...
Honestly, our altar calls need to CHANGE; we’ve gotta get on-page with Peter and Paul; let the lost know they’re ALREADY forgiven, because “God so loved the world that He gave...” and that the call upon them is to repent in thankfulness to God of the sin that made such a costly forgiveness necessary, and embrace the Person, Power, and Preaching of Jesus Christ who gave himself willingly “for the joy set before him” to make that inestimable gift a reality.
THAT’S the part where believeing by faith comes in.
Next, Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; (Acts 3:19)
And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. (Acts 5:32)
As the Lord said,
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. (John 20:31)
And Paul
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, (Ephesians 1:13) And Peter again,
To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. (Acts 10:43)
And in confirmation,
And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. (Acts 15:7-9)
Likewise more by Paul:
Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. (Acts 13:38-39)
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. (Acts 26:18)
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. (Galatians 2:16)
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. (Galatians 3:22)
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: (Romans 5:1)
In contrast, all unbelievers shall die in their sins and are lost to Hell fire:
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I AM [there is no "he" in the Greek], ye shall die in your sins. (John 8:24)
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8)
May God peradventure grant you "repentance to the acknowledging of the truth." (2 Timothy 2:25)
What bible are you getting “let the lost know they're ALREADY forgiven,” from?
Repenting means we are asking God for forgiveness for our sins. It also means we are to turn away from doing them again.
That Christians have the ability to be with God in Heaven rests on what God did through His Son's sacrifice and our acceptance of this. Without our acceptance and repentance, what Christ did is in vain for us. It's like we spat on Him.
Ok; let's see it.
Jesus says the yoke (2 of them) were easy to bear if you actual love Him, which it is. People can claim...but defile the Holy Spirit (Only unforgivable sin) if they fail to repent/excuse sin even after “believing”, Pharisees/Sadducees believed/saw in Christ but did not accept his message. True believers get rebuke and are aware of sin then quickly change, not excuse or say to God “It's just the way I AM”. Jesus stated He does not those “Christians”/believers.
Wait!
What about all the hoops a Christian is supposed to jump through?
