Speaking to reporters at the White House Wednesday, Press Secretary Jen Psaki mocked Americans who joyfully took off their masks earlier this week after a federal judge struck down the Centers for Disease Control mandate.
Psaki claimed "just one" plane full of passengers reacted positively to the news. There are dozens of videos showing relieved passengers freeing their faces, with thousands of flight reactions that went undocumented.
Meanwhile, the Department of Justice announced Wednesday evening federal attorneys will work to appeal the decision to nullify the mask mandate after the CDC requested they do so. In a statement, the CDC declared the appeal is necessary to protect the federal agency's "authority."
"To protect CDC’s public health authority beyond the ongoing assessment announced last week, CDC has asked DOJ to proceed with an appeal in Health Freedom Defense Fund, Inc., et al., v. Biden, et al. It is CDC’s continuing assessment that at this time an order requiring masking in the indoor transportation corridor remains necessary for the public health," the statement read.

I live in the deep blue New England state of Connecticut. Both Amtrak and CT transit which operates buses in some commuter rail have dropped the mandate. For giggles, I stopped by the local train station when I knew a train was going to be coming in. 75 to 85% of the people boarding or getting off didn’t have their masks on. The White House is in such an echo chamber they have no idea what is going on outside of the DC metro area, more specifically the elite governing class in said area.

Congress never gave the CDC the authority, they simply assumed it and that is why they lost.
Exactly. If they were so confident that masking was great and loved, they have both houses in the presidency right now and they could simply passing legislation that gives the CDC authority to do so. However, we know they will never do that because that would be even more disastrous for them and they’re 16% congressional approval rating or 30-40% presidential approval rating

I wonder if there will be a spike in cases reported in the next couple of weeks? Not because there actually is a spike in cases, but because fudging the numbers would help support the narrative.
