The Minsk agreement will be enforced by Russia and there is nothing troublemakers and ignorant loudmouths from the US can do about it.
Putin is not showing mercy. The steel plant and more importantly, the nearby Industrial NEON plant are two assets the Russians want control of with minimal damage. The NEON plant is one of only a handful in the world and if the Russians can utilize it and capture the one in Odessa, they will control over 75% of the world’s Industrial NEON production (China produces almost all the remainder). Industrial NEON is required for microchip manufacturing. It is difficult to refine and to build a new plant in the west would take over a year to get on line. Even the world’s largest microchip producers only have about 45 days of Industrial NEON on hand right now.
There won’t be any peace until your boy Putin stops his temper tantrum and orders his armies back to Russia where they belong.
Even if he manages to defeat the Ukrainian army somehow, he’ll just be facing a permanent insurgency as long as they try to occupy the country. So they’ll be leaving sooner or later, the only question is: how many Russians need to be killed to satisfy Putin’s ego?
