An employee at a Family Dollar store in Texas opened fire on a would-be shoplifter, striking him multiple times and killing him, cops said Tuesday.
Antonio Batres, 21, is now facing a murder charge for shooting the 49-year-old man in the back after a “physical altercation” at the Houston Family Dollar on Sunday at about 4:30 p.m., according to Houston police.

This wasn’t merely a measly “shoplifting” crime, it was ROBBERY, according to Texas statute. Once the perp uses force or threat of force to commit the theft, that bumps it up to a felony. The shooting was warranted.
If a shoplifter leaves a store and bumps a pedestrian at the door, it becomes robbery.
