A small but growing number senior Kremlin insiders are quietly questioning Vladimir Putin’s decision to send troops into Ukraine eight weeks ago. With military losses mounting and Russia facing unprecedented international isolation a growing number of them are quietly questioning Putin’s decision to go to war.
The number of those who criticize the government’s top positions of power remains small, with most of them spread across state-run businesses and government. According to ten people who have direct knowledge of the situation, they believe that the invasion was a disastrous mistake that will set the country back for many years. All spoke anonymously, as they were afraid of reprisal.
These people have no hope of Putin changing his course or facing any domestic challenge. Putin has become more dependent on a smaller group of hard-line advisers. They said that he dismissed any attempts to warn him of the severe economic and political consequences.

“ Putin has become more dependent on a smaller group of hard-line advisers”
These ‘hardline advisers’ are just butt kissers telling him what he wants to hear.
“Little Pukin was bested by Zelensky.”
LOL how do you explain the remaining Ukrainians dying while encircled by “Pukin” forces in Mariupol? great strategy from a former TV comedian..s/
I do feel bad for the Russians. Their long history of being treated like s*** by their “leaders” has left them with feeling like their only legacy will be that they have taught the Democrat party how to do it to us also.
Except, we have guns.
Nato propaganda...
Notice how the detail of the war have dropped from the MSM. It’s neither a resounding defeat of the Russian forces, nor a sweeping Russian blitzkreig. Instead it’s a grinding force vs force, either street-to-street in urban areas, or assaults across wide open terrain.
Neither fits the simple narrative that the MSM requires to report the story.
Maybe Zalensky will play a song of victory on the piano.
“unnamed insiders say...”
>>> These ‘hardline advisers’ are just butt kissers telling him what he wants to hear. <<<
And Pidor Putin keeps purging these butt kissers. Soon enough he’ll be surrounded only by enemies. Hopefully one of them will kill the bastard.
Which Kremlin advisers? The advisers in Moscow or the advisors in Washington DC?
Cant be happening.
Kazan said a couple bunker buster bombs would take care of the mariupol hold outs...
BTW, how mant times now has Russia gave an ultimatum?
“Better surrender or else, I really, really really double dog dare you mean it this time!”
The fact that they have resisted so well for two long months against a much bigger, better force is a credit to their guts and their leaders.
We can only hope that our fellow "conservatives" can muster enough collective manliness to fight back some day.
It is fair to say the oligarchs are not happy with the mess that Putin has made of this and it has cost them money and placed them in jeopardy.
Putin has gambled their fortunes with his.
Why would I say this? History shows when a regime like Putin’s fails the next “populist” government typically goes after the assets of the corruptocrats and allies of the prior regime in the name of justice for the people.
There is no linear equation to this tragic conflict for the oligarchs and they know it better than you and I do.
It’s getting more likely that Putin will resort to nukes, but so long as nobody’s talking about it, it’s not real. Right?
Well, he’s not wounded any more...................
And as the texas border collapses under the weight of Biden-backed invaders, Speedy remains fixated on the Ukrainian civil war.
“Better surrender or else, I really, really really double dog dare you mean it this time!”
Reminds me of that mysterious “red line” issued by the US not long ago......
The article wasn’t about oligarchs.
Military offense is far tougher than defense.
Anyone with a little military knowledge knows this.
That said, this should end. There is no good endgame for either country right now.
