A South Carolina inmate who has spent 21 years on death row has chosen a firing squad for his April 29 execution. If the execution happens it will be South Carolina's first since 2011.
Richard Moore, 57, chose a firing squad over the electric chair.
"I believe this election is forcing me to choose between two unconstitutional methods of execution, and I do not intend to waive any challenges to electrocution or firing squad by making an election," Moore said.
Moore's lawyers continue to challenge the constitutionality of both types of execution. They are challenging the execution in both state and federal courts.
South Carolina issued a notice of execution April 7 after the U.S. South Carolina Supreme Court voted 5-1 to uphold his death sentence for the murder of convenience store clerk James Mahoney during a robbery.
Moore's lawyers filed a stay of execution motion with the court the same day.
South Carolina paused executions in 2011 when they could not get the lethal injection drugs required. A law signed by Gov. Henry McMaster last May reverted the state's execution method to the electric chair.
Does anyone know what method of execution Moore maintains is constituional?
If Dr. Kevorkian and others have ways to execute people that the left thinks are humane, why can’t those methods be used?
Firing squad is best.
If you got to go; go in style. And refuse the blindfold if you can.
I’m serious.

In this case, sucking on a Newport.
How did he kill the store clerk? He must have thought that method was OK.
Firing squad vs. lethal injection? I’d take the firing squad. Quick, and very little chance of “complications.”
Because the left only support executing innocent people.
firing squad would be my choice. I am not brave, and lethal injection and electric chair sounds as if they are worse way to die.
Nitrogen asphyxiation.
Quick, painless, cheap.

Not me. An eight ball of heroin or one gram of fentanyl will do me just nicely, thank you. I’m not a big fan of state trained assassins. They get bored and eager in their day jobs.
Hmmm. He didn’t eve bring a weapon to the store.
Firing squad has already been ruled to not violate the.8th amendment so much so it has been cited as precedence three more times at the USSC. Shoot this Ahole.
Wilkerson v. Utah, 99 U.S. 130 (1879)
In China about 30 years ago a group of men were sentenced to death for piracy. This was a public execution that was televised. They sang the national anthem of Taiwan as they were marched into the stadium.
Or a big dose of morphine. Only the govt can make simple things so difficult.
Executioner: you have your choice burning at the stake or beheading
Curly: I’ll take burning at the stake
Larry: Why?
Curly: A hot stake is better than a cold chop. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk
“Richard Moore, 57, chose a firing squad over the electric chair.”
Okay, I’m giving him ten points for style!
Shoot straight, you bastards. - Don’t make a mess of it!
Much more dignified to die standing of you can.
😏
