ATLANTA (CBS46) -- The race for Georgia’s governorship begins with the GOP Primary in just six weeks.

Former President Donald Trump has endorsed David Perdue, but his attempt to unseat Brian Kemp isn’t showing up in the polls.

CBS46 obtained a Landmark Communications survey of nearly 700 people which shows Kemp at the top of the poll with 52% support, David Perdue at 28%, and Kandiss Taylor with 10%.

In the race for Georgia’s Secretary of State, Congressman Jody Hice has a commanding lead at 35%, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is at 18% and David Belle Isle has 10% support.

Half of those Perdue voters will NOT vote for Kemp in the general election, even if Trump makes a deal with the loathsome RINO Kemp.

So get ready to say hello to the Abrams Tank.

Can the Republican party now put David Perdue away for good? What a stiff.

There doesn’t appear to be any compelling reason to replace Kemp with Perdue. Trump and others are upset that Kemp doesn’t challenge the claim that everything looked normal in 2020, but Perdue never said anything back then. Undoubtedly many Republicans who believe 2020 was or may have been illegitimate are not focusing on that.

I think we are looking at a situation for a Primary that will have low turnout and Perdue will win because of Trump Voters. Lazy people who aren’t going to vote are likely the majority of the people polled.

Bingo! I would let Abrams have it before voting for A traitor and criminal. That’s Kemp. We have a GOP statehouse in GA we can weather a Democrat governor. Roy Barnes was an epic fail and Abrams would be too. I’ll not reward someone as bad as Kemp with a vote.

Proving that Republican voters are just as stupid as Democrat voters.

As if South Carolina had not proved that convincingly enough by re-electing Flimsey Grahamnesty TWICE after THREE amnesty votes.

Yes. You’re right. Purdue didn’t fight and he just went away. Milquetoast personality. I don’t know if Kemp can beat Abrams. At this point, I doubt it.

I’m sorry, but I don’t get the outrage over Kemp. He just signed constitutional carry. The only reason Trump hates him is that he reopened Ga. up quickly while Karen-America was locked down forever, and then he appointed Loeffler over Doug Collins. Just because he wasn’t Trump’s b**** doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be re-elected. He’s a solid conservative. I don’t live in GA, so if someone can explain to me what Kemp has done to make himself a RINO, perhaps you can persuade me.

Kemp beat her in 2018 during a ‘blue wave,’ why couldn’t he in 2022 in a red one? I don’t buy there are going to be this huge number of conservatives voting Abrams/not at all. It feels like huge hyperbole in the same vein as PUMAs in 2008 (Hillary supporters for John McCain) or #NeverTrumpers for Clinton in 2016.

Beats me why Trump can’t seem to see through the RINOs he is endorsing. This is his one inexcusable weakness. You would think that Sessions and Pence was enough to show him that he in incapable of picking reliable people and winds up with at least half of his picks turn out to be snakes. It was his listening to the wrong people and not the ones he got rid of. If he does manage to get reelected and fails to understand this he will be stonewalled and betrayed again just as in his first term.

Kemp isn't alpha enough. He's not like Trump or DeSantis. There was not reason for Georgia to turn blue in 2020 but Kemp failed in his duty to stop Democrats' shenanigans with mail in ballots.

Kemp may be a fine Cabinet Secretary or a Congressman but to be a Governor, you need bigger balls.

Just my two cents.
