David Mamet on conservatism

This week on Uncommon Knowledge, playwright David Mamet discusses his book The Secret Knowledge: On the Dismantling of American Culture and his conversion to conservatism. Mamet explains how, by studying Jewish and Christian texts such as the Talmud and the Bible, he came to approach arguments from a new perspective that aligned itself with conservative politics. Throughout the interview, Mamet discusses his newly found conservative position on several issues, including social justice and civil rights, the decline of the family and the sexual revolution, affirmative action and race, and domestic politics and foreign policy.

Last time there was a “sexual revolution” like what we have today God destroyed two cities.

Mamet explains how, by studying Jewish and Christian texts such as the Talmud and the Bible, he came to approach arguments from a new perspective that aligned itself with conservative politics.

Gotta get it right with God or it won’t work for long, if at all.

Three Steps to Human Destruction:
1. Willful Self-determination
2. Wicked Self-deception
3. Woeful Self-destruction

All the flavors of marx madness, communism, socialism, liberalism, wokeism, etc., are the rationalized embodiments of steps 1 and 2.

And recorded history and modern times both are full of their step 3 examples, also.

You gotta build the boat to float, so to speak, according to the laws of nature or it’s just another learning experience about the laws of nature. It’s just that way.

And for society and for us as individuals, it’s much better and far easier to read the Old and New Testaments and ponder the many examples given there to learn what the rules are first, and then do that instead of Marx’s madness.

Much easier that way! And then with that Old and New Testament perspective, take a long look at the genius of the U.S. Constitution and at the evil of those who now seek to undermine and redefine all of our basic God-given definitions.
