Walt’s empire maintained image as its most important asset, but long before Walt himself passed, it was pretty clear to those paying attention that the image was being maintained by what amounts to Gestapo tactics.

There’s a reason the 80s punk song Stukas Over Disneyland by The Dickies exists. Disney, even under Walt, had and has a nasty habit of trying to silence leakers or whistleblowers through force, blackmail, extortion and political connections.
