Ukrainian forces in Mariupol have been forced to surrender to Russian soldiers as they are run out of ammunition and have been fighting without sufficient food and water for more than a month, according to an Independent report.
A British man who volunteered to fight against Russian soldiers in Ukraine is also among these soldiers who have surrendered after defending Mariupol for weeks.
PBS correspondant Simon Ostrovsky posted a picture of the British volunteer and confirmed that he had surrendered to Russian troops, according to a former squad member.

There was hardly any information for a week, then yesterday they said 200 surrendered, and today it’s up to 1000.
There also were breakout attempts, some painted Z’s on their vehicles and some wore civilian clothing.
They caught a lot but admit a bunch made it to civilian housing uncaught so far
Sounds like they held when they should have retreated.

I would hope so, we’ve had a consistent training presence, including combat arms for several years.
They have been good enough to cause the Russian Army, which has demonstrated significant flaws, no end of trouble. But when you run out of food and water, skill can’t compensate.

Liberation? The word you seek is “conquest,” the Russians were uninvited, are unwanted by the population, and are leveling the place.

A couple of points...first the person they're referring to here is none other than Aiden Aslin aka the famous @cossackghundi. Secondly this mope is formally enlisted in Ukraine's military and as such he's entitled to full POW status under the Geneva convention...even though he's said many things he may now regret.
