Tucker Carlson opened his show on Monday night with the story of the mass lockdown in Shanghai, with more than 24 million people turned into starving prisoners in their homes, as the government adds in the singular cruelty of slaughtering their pets. This is ostensibly in the name of a “Zero COVID” policy, but that’s nonsense. The real goal is to bring the citizens of Shanghai to heel lest they start to pose a threat to Xi Jinping’s and the Party’s dominance.
We’ve learned a lot about COVID since China released it to the world in 2019. It’s most dangerous to the very elderly and those with comorbidities. It may well be treatable—if caught early enough—using common, safe medicines such as hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, and doxycycline.
And most importantly, we’ve learned that lockdowns don’t work:
States that imposed the harshest lockdowns had the most devastating impact on the public, the most wide-ranging study into Covid restrictions in the US to date has found.
New York, California, New Jersey and Illinois were panned for their pandemic performance after bringing in draconian measures to shut their citizens in their homes.
Those states’ Democrat Governors’ policies caused high death rates, ruined children’s education and destroyed businesses due to the severe curbs on freedom, researchers found as they slapped them with an F-grade.
Nine out of the ten worst responses to the pandemic were in blue states, the report said, with only Republican-run Maryland bucking that trend and coming seventh last.
Meanwhile places that allowed their residents more freedom as coronavirus swept across the country appeared to fair better over the last two years.

China’s lock-down of Shanghai has nothing to do with Covid. It is political. Chinese themselves are saying that Xi Jinping is in a battle with his political rivals, who are based in Shanghai.
The rest of China is “open” - people travel freely between other cities, large wedding parties are being held, even sporting events - but somehow, Shanghai has tens of thousands of “covid cases” every day. Covid is now purely just another tool of political control.

Apparentky Xi had replaced key local leaders with his own stooges, and many Shanghainese were becoming increasingly critical. So this lockdown is his response.
He recently sent his enforcer Vice Minister Sun Chunlan to Shanghai to crack the whip.

Actually things are very grim in Shanghai right now.
Food is running out and people are being locked in their homes to starve to
death.
People who break the paper seal on their door are taken away to a concentration camp. (As far as we know. Could be worse.)
Pets are being taken outside and clubbed to death. In some instances they are placed in net bags multiples at a time to be placed on the street for pickup.
On Tucker Carlson they showed multiple writhing bags with cats screeching to get out.
This story is China-wide and is totally political, having nothing to do with covid, health, or control. The lockdown is far more draconian than seen on TV.
This is about two things:
1) Xi Jinping is up for election by the Party Elite as Leader, cum Emperor.
2) As the current Leader he is infallible and must be obeyed. To that end, he proclaimed a zero tolerance for covid. Meaning it must be eradicated wherever it is found at whatever the cost, until it no longer exists.
To achieve this end there is mandatory testing - no matter the weather. People are swabbed with the same swab until it the swab is no longer useful. So its not about health of covid.
Food is donated to the lockdown people, but it is often stolen or they throw it away because the Party has told them food is contaminated with covid. So the starving people climb down their multi-storied apartment buildings to forage for anything remotely edible.
Hence the riots and the chants for freedom. The people now see that the Leader is fallible, and have said they will tolerate much, but no more because they see what is really happening.

Shanghai is the world’s most expensive city because there are now a lot of very rich people living there. Shanghai has shot up this week’s Forbes billionaire rankings. It now has the sixth largest concentration of billionaires in the world.
Nobody is starving to death in Shanghai.
Look closer to home for that in the big Dem run , crime ridden cities.
Tucker Carlson covered this in the last few days. This is not the Ukraine.

There’s some kind of feud going on in different factions of the local and
national government, and that is thought to be causing the harsh crackdown
under the guise of COVID.

I don’t honestly know how credible it all is, but unless we’re
going to say all media is not believable, I think it’s
reasoned to believe.
What are we going to believe if we deny everything that is
presented even by FoxNews?
As for me making wild claims, if you have something tangible
to provide as a rebuttal to what I’m presenting, now would
be a reasoned time to provide it.
Tucker stated that China isn’t denying it’s doing any of this.
