This is true, but no politician should say it.

Just continue collecting 90% of total tax revenue from the well-off professionals who support the Democrats. They voted for high taxes, so let’s make sure they pay!

Middle class keeps the revenue coming in. What a matron!

Aside from the fact that he’s idiotic even as a plant for the democrats, which is the only way to explain this statement, not anyone in congress and most governors have one clue how economics work

That said, if you go to a near single digit flat tax for everyone you could put government back where they belong. Stop with the out of control spending

30 trillion dollars in debt. Does this guy have any idea how the middle class is supposed to get control of that

Does he know congress just voted itself a 20% raise?

Just put togas on them

“Now to out Vance as a Decepticon.”

I agree 100%. Vance voted against Trump twice. And he will admit he was critical of Trump, BUT we don’t know what he said. It was far more inflammatory and lefty sounding that simply being “critical”.

I’d also love to know WHO he voted for and WHY! But no one will ask him or he hasn’t said.

over 60% of people pay NO income tax.

The problem is most people “THINK” they pay taxes when they actually only pay into their government retirement and medical insurance plan (aka social security, medicare and Medicaid). Which are NOT the same as the FEDERAL INCOME TAX.

This guy is talking about the FEDERAL INCOME TAX, that 60%+ don’t pay.

What’s the deal with Jane Timken? Bannon had her on Warroom and she sounded pretty good.

I’m not from OH and don’t know anything about her.

Something seems off about Mandel, and Vance sounds good on tv, but again I know nothing about OH politics.

With mandatory payroll withholding tax, pretty much everyone working for someone is paying taxes. If they then are able to use the tax laws passed by congress to reduce their tax liability, blame the lawmakers, not the taxpayers. You should only pay what you must pay, using the law to reduce that amount is not illegal.

I’m middle class, and I just wrote a five digit check to the IRS on top of what they kept. We have a spending problem, and a dollar printing problem, not a taxation/confiscation problem.

It’s a very bad policy to have just the rich pay taxes. Thats why the middle class and poor are asleep on the “government spending too much” issue. They don’t pay and have no skin in the game.

How big of percentage of my income is a "fair share"? And why is that percentage different than anyone else's.

In the end, monetary values on taxes are a substitute for labor and life, so the real question is how many of my 40 hours per week of labor belongs to the government and how many of my three billion heartbeats in a lifetime belong to them?

I think I understand what he’s trying to say - broaden the tax base instead of concentrating the tax burden on a small segment. But the right way to do that is to broaden it via a flat tax at a relatively low rate. Of course that will never happen in this environment.

“His goose is cooked.

Who did Trump endorse in this race?”

_____________________________________________

President Trump hasn’t endorsed anyone yet, according to this:

https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/2022/03/16/ohio-senate-race-mike-gibbons-gains-josh-mandel-polls/9375410002/

Excerpt:

Now he’s back at it and contending with a more crowded field. In addition to Mandel, Gibbons is vying against former Ohio Republican Party chair Jane Timken, author and venture capitalist J.D. Vance and state Sen. Matt Dolan.

Trump has yet to back anyone in this race. Gibbons reportedly met with Trump on Tuesday.

If you ask Gibbons, he sees Mandel as his only real competition. A Fox News poll released this month put Gibbons at 22% over Mandel’s 20%, and Gibbons led Mandel by 7 percentage points in a separate survey from Emerson College. Mandel led most internal and independent polls prior to that.

Gibbons is completely out of touch. Just another establishment POS.

Lower taxes and 80% less government should be the issue. Fire all those lazy ass government employees that suck at the tit of hard working Americans. Government is a problem.

They might stop spending like drunken sailors if every voter had to pick up part of the tab.

Ye ole nebulous fair share.

So, how much is a fair share? They seldom put a number or percentage on it.

--

[Rhetorical, of course. Most pols, any party, would like it at at least 15%, or 25% or 125% if they could get it.]
