"The situation in Shanghai is scary. Reports of millions struggling to feed themselves, elderly unable to access medicine, videos of small riots breaking out circulating on social media. Many households relying on inadequate govt food deliveries."
"Unbelievable. People so desperate they broke curfew and looted a grocery store in Shanghai last night. Food delivery apps were allowed to be turned back on after that but situation is unstable. Reports of communities opening their own local representative government. Wow."
Remember during Tianamen the local military guys would nto fire on the students. Too many friends/relatives in the mix. It took something over 30 days for the Chicoms to bring in units from the back country, who had no local connections, and were willing to start busting heads. But this time a bug is in the mix so I don’t see it working the same way for XI. And the Chicoms are a little short of food nationally anyway.
Note that Shanghai’s population is roughly the same as Kalifornia——that’s a bunch of potentially PO’d people to keep settled down. The chicoms had all they could handle just taking over Hong Kong and the Kongs weren’t even hungry.

It’s one thing to hoard food stuffs.
But our medical system doesn’t let you have an emergency supply of prescription drugs.
I’ve gone a week. No big deal.
This is what happens when you try to lock down 26 million people.
Well, for me, all my health issues would be improved by losing weight, so there’s that.
The lockdown starvation diet for a healthier you!
It’s a win-win!
Good question. It might depend on whether or not the PLA is hungry.
Bingo.
It’s the media, so I don’t completely trust this, but a few sources are reporting that Shanghai is about to “ease restrictions.”
I wonder if the government thugs are still trying to determine how far they can push people.

(They can stick their “mass testing” in the same dark place they can put their vaccine and mask mandates.)
My daughter is living there. Her tiny grocery shopping cost about $250. Government did deliver some vegetables, cucumbers. Each one had a bite out it it. Someone just being mean.
Hungry people, are angry people. With a population of about 25 million people, that might be a LOT of hungry, angry people, ready to loot.

“Let me tell you something about Hew-mons, Nephew. They’re a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working.”

When you have to rely on government to be fed.
“I was locked down for 30 days and came off all my medicines!”
