Texas Military Expanding Migrant Turnback Operations Along Rio Grande

Governor Greg Abbott ordered the Texas Military Department to expand migrant turnback operations along the Rio Grande. The order comes in response the President Joe Biden’s decision to end the Title 42 coronavirus protection protocol and the predicted surge of up to 18,000 migrants per day attempting to cross from Mexico.

During a press conference in Weslaco, Texas, on Wednesday, Governor Abbott ordered the Texas Military Department to expand migrant turnback operations previously announced. In an exclusive interview with the Texas governor in March, Abbott announced the program to begin turning migrants back who are attempting to illegally cross the border from Mexico into Texas.

“Now we have come up with a more effective strategy for preventing them from even getting into the country to begin with,” the governor announced. “There’s a new category called ‘turnbacks.’ We’re working on strategies that will turn back people that are trying to make it across.”

On Wednesday, the governor ordered the expansion of the program, calling for members of the Texas National Guard and Department of Public Safety to begin river blockades and other measures to prevent successful border crossings.

Abbott called for “deploying boat blockades, deploying razor wire at low water crossings and high traffic areas, (and) creating additional container blockades, to drive people away from low water crossings.”

Texas Military Department Adjutant General, Air Force Major General Thomas Suelzer said his soldiers and airmen would begin “employing boats with DPS and Texas Parks and Wildlife to form a blockade on the river to keep people from crossing into Texas.”

If I was Pres. the border would be lined with machine gun turrets.
Knock on our front door, we welcome you. Break in the back door, you’re a criminal.

Texas needs to arrest the people at the border and forcibly put them on airplanes bound for Washington DC

FWIW...

The Texas Military Department is composed of the three branches of the military in the state of Texas. These branches are the Texas Army National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, and the Texas State Guard. All three branches are administered by the state Adjutant General, an appointee of the Governor of Texas, and fall under the command of the Governor.

A couple of minutes with a belt-fed deterrent and word would quickly get passed to the rear of the horde . . .

The cartels will send children first to “test” the mine fields.

Wasn’t George W. Bush in the Texas Air National Guard flying Delta Darts?

Abbott is much better at making promises than keeping them, wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for confirmation photo of those bus loads of illegals he promised to send to DC.

Not legal by Federal law.

Neither is what Biden is doing, who cares?

Bush flew the F-102, Delta Dagger. The Delta Dart was the designation for the F-106. The aircraft looked very much alike.

Since the illegals have to volunteer to get on bus to DC this like DeSantis sending illegals to Del are ways to keep the issue front and center.
The other measures Abbott announced will have real deterrence.
What measures against illegals has Abbott announced buy did not implement?

What else would you have him do?

Do you think that the Bidenistas would hesitate to come down with Federal troops and start arresting anyone involved in it under Federal “human trafficking” and “kidnapping” charges? They’d do exactly that if they had any excuse.

Set up M2 50 Cal along the river and charge Red Necks, under TXNG supervision, to man them. Protect the Border and make money, too.
