A 2-year-old girl was shot dead by a Missouri cop during a tense hostage situation at a Kansas camping trailer, Kansas authorities revealed Monday.
The tragedy unfolded on March 26 when Clesslynn Crawford and her mother were being held at gunpoint by her father, Eli Crawford, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
Cops responded to the home in Cherokee County around 7:15 p.m. after a woman called 911 and requested help for a “domestic disturbance,” the KBI said.

Is it S.O.P. for Missouri cops in K.C. to respond to calls on the Kansas side of the state line? Do the MO cops have arrest powers in Kansas? Not saying they shouldn’t care or try to help, but shouldn’t the Kansas cops be running the crime scene?

My neighbor is a Council Bluffs, IA police officer and when Omaha was experiencing peaceful BLM protests, he said a bunch of them were staged with riot gear by the interstate interchanges between the two states waiting for the call. Thankfully, it never occurred.
We have yet to develop one. Even things like Tasers and other electroshock weapons turn out to have nasty holes in their envelope that results in them not working at all on one side or killing the target on the other.
Isn’t Kansas’ official abbreviation KS? And Missouri’s should be MO, right?
I am not aware of any US states with an official abbreviation of KA, and I am similarly unaware of a Kansas City in Massachusetts.
Ask any cop. Domestic disturbances are the worst assignment.. You will always be on the wrong side.

Strange. The fellow killed his girlfriend and shot the place up, but cops didn’t return fire. More cops arrive and one of them fires. Had the fellow stopped shooting? Had he already killed himself? Was a swat cop aiming directly at him with the ‘single shot’ that killed the little girl??
