Barack Obama visited the White House for the first time since he left office on Tuesday. He was there to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, as well as to watch President Biden sign an executive order aimed at improving the law. Obama’s return created plenty of commotion, and for Fox News and the rest of the right-wing ecosphere, a fresh opportunity to cast Biden as a weaker, watered-down version of the former president.
The Republican National Committee shared two clips of the visit that quickly went viral. The first shows an ostensibly confused Biden ambling around the stage as Obama holds court behind him. The second is similar, with Biden standing on the periphery as Obama greets well wishers.
The clips even made it onto the Fox News primetime slate. “Biden doesn’t know what on earth he’s doing or, at times, where he even is,” Lauran Ingraham said as she played the first clip. Tucker Carlson played the second, along with a “King Obama” graphic depicting the former president wearing a crown and a menacing scowl. “Make it stop,” Carlson said. “It’s awful.”
The only problem is that both clips were taken out of context. Biden does look a little confused in the first clip, but it’s only because he’s looking for someone, perhaps Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, whom he brings up onstage to applause shortly after the conservative media cut ends. The second clip ends right before Biden gets Obama’s attention and introduces him to someone. Twitter user @acyn helpfully attached the full clips to the end of the Fox News segments lambasting the edited versions.

Correct and I imagine the complete footage does not paint president vegetable in a better light.
True, of course. But the twitterers - never mind the few who read Rolling Stone - all see things differently and are outraged at another lie by Fox about their beloved president. So any storyline about Biden being a victim of Alzheimer disease is a conspiracy by the right-wingers.
My wife watches the SeeBS morning news while I grit my teeth; they showed the same thing and also said he was snubbed and looked shut out.
They were not doctored.
And they didn’t make him seem like he was “lost” - it made it seem exactly the way things happened - that he was wanting to talk to people and they were ignoring him like he wasn’t there.
Why even excerpt or take things out of context? He is such a pathetic creature that there is no reason to leave yourself open to any criticism.
Exactly how have they been taken out of context?
And when have they ever said the same defense statements of any republican or conservative clip they’ve ever played?
Why would Rolling Stone bother to point this out over everything else they’ve said about Fox if their readers don’t watch Fox anyway? They’re at risk of creating a Streisand effect with their readers.
Someone pulling Biden away to take him to the “losers” couch a la the Omega Pledge party scene at the beginning of Animal House would have been perfect. TFG is supposedly President and they are treating him that way in HIS White House? His lips were moving and only Obama was close enough to hear him over the racket going on with all the other big mouths going. No one else was close enough to hear Biden and even with his hand on Obama’s shoulder, he was being ignored. No, something is wrong, context or not.
So I guess sports “highlights” clips are just also taken out of context.
I guess the weather damage and storm clips they relish in playing also just take things out of context.
He was lost. He finally found somebody he knew who was willing to talk to him.. looked like a young girl … and then saw another friend that he recognized. But nobody important even looked at him.
I expect that Obama's backers are the ones who really control things. Obama is merely a much more capable actor that Biden and follows the scripts more reliably. If only they could get around that Constitutional Amendment 22, they would install Obama as President right now, and for as long as they wanted him.
Maybe in the chaos of a nice little world war, they can work something out.
You want real villains? Look to the shadows where the high-level Obama backers lurk.

Thepeople there were totally ignoring him, until some kind woman took his hand and guided him back over to the crowd.

I remember a Rolling Stone cover that was doctored. It was the November 9, 2000 issue, and they enhanced Al Gore’s family jewels.
