Imagine a social media platform where people can say whatever the hell it is they want to say; where the only limitation is whether or not what you post is legal or illegal. It’s a pretty simple concept – threats, calls for violence, child pornography, etc., are banned, everything else is fair game. Want to make a joke about Rachel Levine being “Man of the Year,” go for it. That social media platform would be…well, what the current crop claim to be, just without the fascistic obsession with making sure “marginalized” whatever aren’t ever upset. It’d be like what adulthood used to be.
One man might be making moves to bring that reality back to reality – Elon Musk.
I’m not one to toot my own horn, but I’m going to in this case. Back in February I wrote the following:
"Rather than retreat, a better course of action would be for all the capital being shoveled into these “alternative” platforms being pooled together to take over an existing one.
Lord knows there are very wealthy conservative or libertarian donors out there, or just pro-freedom billionaires with a ton of money (looking at you, Elon Musk) who could do this themselves or partnered with others. Why not?
Twitter would be the obvious choice to target for takeover. Facebook is worth way too much, plus it doesn’t really drive the news conversation the way Twitter does. Instagram is owned by Facebook and is more about narcissism than anything else. TikTok is owned by China and they have no incentive to sell, they’re too busy mining personal information from their idiot users and their phones. And YouTube is owned by Google, which has more money than God and no reason to sell.
If someone, or a group of people, went after Twitter, it’d be getable."
(Read the whole thing, it was prophetic.)
This makes sense – someone like Elon Musk, who hasn’t really been censored himself, has seen case after case of the left-wing mob silencing any and all opposition. He’s also been the target of the left-wing mob more than most.
I’ll admit, I don’t have the history of a big Elon Musk fan, having been critical of the subsidies his industry and companies have been the beneficiary of. But what he’s built, regardless of where financial help came from, is pretty remarkable.
And while Jeff Bezos is out gallivanting around the world with his former mistress, there really isn’t anyone in the “billionaire who can buy a company on principle” class who seems to give a damn about free speech or general civil rights like Musk does. You think Bill Gates is going to take time away from being a liberated sexual deviant hell-bent on seeding the clouds with ash to reflect sunlight or force everyone to eat bugs to care about conservatives being silenced online? (Seriously, we need to have a conversation about what that man is up to very soon, because it’s crazy.)
Elon Musk may not be the billionaire you want, but he might just be the billionaire we need right now. Heads have to roll at Twitter, the biggest shareholder can make that happen. The culture needs to change at Twitter – the sense of entitlement of those in management positions has reached epic proportions. When you can suspend the Babylon Bee because you don’t like a joke, not because you don’t get it but because you don’t think it should have been told, you need a course correction. Sometimes that course correction has to involved a box with all your stuff from your office in it as you walk to your car.
Honestly, it couldn’t happen to more deserving people.
So, thank you, Elon Musk. I doubt you read my column or were influenced by my tweets over the last couple of months, but I’m glad you’re doing it. Even if you end up not being able to make the changes Twitter so desperately needs to live up to its alleged mission (seriously, get in touch, I have some ideas), you’ve at least put the fear of God in people who desperately need it. You put the fear of God in people how spend their days at a keyboard thinking they are God passing judgement on everyone else. Whatever the end result, it’s off to a good start.
Sec going after him again over the Twitter purchase
People think he is not stopping with his current holdings..which may be why the indian dude at Twitter asked about the edit button..he may be fearing for his job

The story out today is Musk being denied entry into an exclusive sex club in Germany but was seen at another one in a zorro mask.
For those that doubt musk walks on the wild side..the confusion is based on the way he worded the tweet. He either refused to enter the exclusive sex club based on the word peace or was denied entry
I see people being even dumber than they are now. Imagine the Nazis quoting Mein Kampf, thread after thread of the Anarchists Cookbook, Skinheads, Black Panthers, bomb throwers and the just plain crazies. Pedophiles, and meth makers all sharing the same board with complete anonymity, yes that would be something to see.
To paraphrase the wonderful Harvey Korman in Blazing Saddles: Hedley Lamarr: “I want you to round up every vicious criminal and gunslinger in the west. Take this down. I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, shit-kickers and Methodists. And get them all on Twitter if there’re not already.
Huh?
I haven’t seen anything of the sort.
Link?
Actually, I think the Supreme Court damaged us when they said a ‘public’ person could be defamed without any recourse. When someone says an out & out lie about you publicly, you should be able to sue for damages. Like Harry Reid’s comments about Romney’s taxes. We should ALWAYS be able to go after someone for outrageous allegations. Including those deemed public personalities.
Is that from the British Daily Mail?
They are great at creating fake news.
Sports get the most tweets. The most activity on Twitter. Political tweets rank 3-4-5th. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone here have a ranking for the top fields for Twitter activity?

Just because you haven’t seen it doesn’t mean it isnt happening...but in this case...I phrased it wrong.
He has given them reason but they haven’t fired the shot yet on the latest.
Btw, Musk has now joined the board of twitter.
he has promised not to own more than 14.9 percent of the stock while on board and for 90 days after. not sure what Reg requires that particular number.

Jack’s framing says Elon Musk will have a far more powerful role than the news suggests. He places Elon on par with CEO in this tweet. Enjoy being dominated by a Hitler meme poster who calls random men pedophiles and might fancy a bit of SEC fraud,
@paraga
! Is Trump returning?”

if anyone thinks the SEC won’t bother with the latest news about Musk and the delayed disclosure ..you haven’t watched the vendetta
