I wonder if they will name any ship after Clarence Thomas or Antonin Scalia.

My wish is that nothing gets named after elected or appointed public officials.

I once joked years ago that the Navy would name a ship after Harvey Milk.

All ships should be named after sailors who died in combat or named after a sea battle or something patriotic. Not after an old commie hag.

Kinda ironic an oil replenishment ship class carrying all of that nasty fossil fuel is named after libs.

I guess you could say, “It’s their navy and their ships, they can name them anything they like”.

Remember when they used to name ships after actual naval heroes?

Agreed. For some reason America tries to turn those folks into some sort of royalty.
When it comes to ships, name them after places or after famous battles. None of this USS Gerald Ford or USS Ginsburg stuff.
