Today is #TransDayofVisiblity--Check out @UnderSecAF Jone's talk with Lt. Col. Bree Fram, highest-ranking openly transgender @DeptofDefense officer, about her role as the Deputy Chief of Acquisitions Policies and Process Division for the @SpaceForceDoD .
Corporal Klinger was just ahead of his time!
Getting ready to retire 60% of the AWACS fleet at Tinker (15 aircraft) in FY’23-24, because it isn’t “survivable” in a future fight. Meanwhile, commanders around the globe still need that capability, so the remaining E-3s—among the most over-worked airframes in DoD—will soldier on. The likely replacement, the E-7 Wedgetail, won’t arrive until the end of the decade. Air force promises only a “short” ISR gap (LOL).
Welcome to the Biden Defense Budget. But let’s focus on what really matters, the highest-ranking “trans” officer in the Air Force.
One last thing: if the E-3 isn’t survivable, why isn’t the same assessment being attached to the RC-135 fleet, which is based on the same 707 airframe? Answer: Rivet Joint is a national level recce asset. Retiring the RJs (which are about a decade older than AWACS) would gut our airborne SIGINT program, something no one is willing to do, at least until the next budget cycle.
He should have stuck with oil filters.
I couldn’t more than a minute of it.
It ain’t a her.
