The application window opens Thursday for Los Angeles County's new guaranteed income program.
The program will provide 1,000 randomly selected residents with $1,000 a month for three years.
To qualify for the "Breathe: LA County's Guaranteed Income Program," people must be at least 18 years old, have a household income under $56,000 for a single person or $96,000 for a family of four and have experienced negative impacts due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Participants will receive the money through a debit card, and there are no strings attached or conditions to the income.

Here in the northeast our cities are doing similar crap, building the pseudo economy of freebies to replace the lost jobs as employers flee. The only people showing up for work in the worst dumps (I won’t say they are “working”) are teachers and cops - the administrators of the welfare reservations.

This is what the Covid and infrastructure bills are paying for.
And they wonder why there are over two million jobs left unfilled. People are waiting for these government giveaways rather than go out and get some honest work.
Since everyone has had some negative impact from covid - this is the little line that allowed them to give the money to the 'same old same old' members of democrat victim groups.

Local news interviewed a county “resident” today; overweight, middle-aged Latina, all masked up, who could hardly speak a word of English. She’s applying for the ‘free’ money of course. I was wondering how long she’s been here since crossing the border.
Los Angeles County is a disaster and getting worse by the day.
Only 1,000? That is discriminatory! How are they going to choose the 1,000? Male? Female? Binary? Non-binary? LGBTQi2a+-*3.14? Black? White? Brown? A mixture of all three?
They should just throw the door open to anyone who wants to be given $1,000 a month for doing nothing. That will do it.
