I was listening to "the History of China" podcast the other day about the Tang dynasty before the An Lushan rebellion.
what was interesting was that the Chinese would insult Koreans they captured as "dog eaters" - so it seems that eating dogs was a horrific thing for the Chinese at least in the Tang dynasty
