Speaking during a rally in Georgia on Saturday, former President Donald Trump suggested that his supporters would boycott the state's midterm election if incumbent Governor Brian Kemp wins the Republican Party's primary race.
At the event, the former president supported several GOP primary candidates, including gubernatorial Republican candidate David Perdue, who is challenging Kemp. Trump has repeatedly criticized the governor after he refused to cave to pressure to investigate the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.
"David Perdue, who is a wonderful man, and incredible family, and who really got screwed by Kemp, is the only candidate in this race who can beat Stacey 'the hoax' Abrams this November. And you know the reason for that is because Trump voters— MAGA—Trump voters will not go out and vote for Kemp," Trump said at the rally. "If Brian Kemp is renominated, he will go down in flames at the ballot box."

Throw another election.
The cost of electing RINOs is sitting in the WH.
BINGO!!!!
This is where he needs to STHU. America needs, more than ever, to boot those f**king out.
After the way the GOP treated Trump his first term, they are dead to me.
Wait until they find out we won’t pay their game any longer.
Trouble is they don’t care if their guy or the Democrats wins.
Kemp and Romney are the two worst RINOs in the nation.
Trump is right to play high-stakes poker over Kemp’s possible nomination. Trump is obviously looking more toward 2024 than 2022 in the Georgia race, and doesn’t want Georgia to be stolen from him yet again because of Kemp.
I can hear the wails of, “But then Stacey Abrams will win and she will definitely rig the election!” in response. Sure, if she wins she will definitely do that, but if Trump is the candidate, and Kemp is governor, we know from recent experience that Kemp will just look the other way and allow the same thing to happen as well. The only good choice is to ensure that Perdue wins. Trump is obviously willing, if necessary, to risk losing some Congressional seats in Georgia in 2022 to try to gain a more solid overseer of the 2024 Georgia election. I think Trump realizes that 2022 is going to be such an overwhelming red wave that losing a few in Georgia wouldn’t keep Republicans from retaking the House and likely the Senate, so his brinksmanship is worth the risk to save 2024.
Kemp was practically the head honcho on the take Trump down train. He needs to go.
Trump and his MAGA supporters owe NOTHING to the Republican establishment.
Totally agree.
You would cede GA to the dumblecrats? That is stupid and irresponsibly childish.
The free traitor/globalist wing of the GOP thinks 2022 is their “golden opportunity” to dump Trump, retake control of the Party, and get rich off Cold War 2.0, especially with the Ukraine war drawing attention to warped neocon notions of “national defense.”
No dice, open borders war pigs! Trump showed us it’s possible to Make America Great Again. Now that he proved it *can* be done, we’re done with NWO rinos. Candace Owens or someone like her will pick up after Trump belongs to the ages. Like another poster said, MAGA is a movement, not any moere man...
Re: 5 - There were several FReepers that talked about sitting out the GA Senate runoff election in early 2021. and some encouraging GA Freepers to do so. That, combined with our good friend Lin Wood suggesting not to vote for the Republican candidates, ended up as good predictors of the outcome.
Does it matter? Ask again in about 2-3 weeks when Biden gets his first Supreme Court nominee confirmed.
Re: 31 - There were several FReepers that advocated sitting out the January 2021 runoff election in GA.
The result? I give you US Supreme Court Associate Justice Kentanji Brown Jackson.
RINO’s and neocons ALWAYS demand that conservatives vote for them in the general election and they NEVER return to favor when a staunch conservative is the candidate (Judge Moore, Adkins, etc).
I say never again.
If Kemp steals the primary then MAGA members need to not vote for Kemp in the general election. Keep the circle blank or write-in Trumps name.
Kentanji -> Ketanji
Re: 35 - Is that your recommendation for all elections going forward?
The only “threat” is see in this story is the interpretation created in the headline.
Purdue is bombing in the polls, down double digits against Kemp and down 2 points than Kemp against Abrams.
Minus the election fiasco Kemp has done ok for Georgia.
