President Biden on Saturday sought to reassure Polish President Andrzej Duda that NATO would respond in lockstep if Russia expands its war beyond Ukraine and launches an attack on Poland.
Mr. Biden underscored the U.S. commitment to Article 5 of the NATO charter, which spells out that an attack on one member of the alliance must be met with a collective response from all the members.
The comments come amid fears that Russia could expand its aggression into Poland, which is a member of the 27-country NATO alliance.

Er, so when will NATO either require to return the wreckage of the Tupolev Tu-154 carrying Polish President Lech Kaczynski to the memorial service he was invited to on April 10, 2022, or declare his assassination an act of war against Poland, a NATO member? What other conclusion is possible from the Russian refusal to return the wreckage after 22 years other than the Polish equivalent of Air Force One was intentionally shot down by the Russians to replace its president with someone more amenable to the German-Russian trade agreements?

This is why the elite want to escalate the war. They fear everyone is noticing that NATO no longer serves a purpose.
With regard to the Russian assassination of Polish President Lech Kaczynski in 2010, NATO failed to serve its purpose. See above.

Any thinking person knows the American people would not support going to war over Bulgaria or several other NATO countries.

Pooty-Poot's pretext for his third invasion of Ukraine has backfired in two ways. First off, NATO's barely lifted a finger to help non-member Ukraine, but these small efforts have resulted in yet another bloody Russian fiasco. Second, NATO is strengthened. 70 years ago, NATO came into being because of Soviet aggression, and for no other reason. Looks like Vlad the Imploder really is emulating Stalin. Thanks GonzoII.

Two questions:
1) Would France help?
2) Would we want France to help?

If the Polish are smart they won’t believe or trust a word Biden says all they have to do is look at his record for the last 15 months.
He’s a walking cluster f**k.

Russia is NOT going to invade Poland, for crying out loud. Putin was very clear, for years, what would happen in Ukraine if NATO kept this up:

Putinis on video saying what their issues are, and the consequences. Right or wrong, he told us, and the world.
Many highly respected foreign policy wonks said the same thing, for years! But NATO was publically saying Ukraine was welcome to join as soon as last December.
Poke, poke, poke the Bear.
Ooopsie!

Takes testicular fortitude to actually do it. And if Russia gets really afraid, they could use nukes.

A world war was fought over Russia and Germany’s joint invasion of Poland. At the end of said war, Russia got to keep all of Poland East of the Bug River, and when Poland objected, the allies brow-beat them into shutting up. So it stayed in Russian hands to this day. So is half of Finland. Bears don’t share the salmon once it’s caught.
Eastern Europe should stop looking to Western Europe for protection from the big bad bear. They are candy-a@@es who don’t keep their word, and America is another one a lot of the time. There should instead be an Eastern European alliance block of Baltic and Balkan states, and also Poland and Hungary. Maybe call it something unpronounceable to westerners and written in Cyrillic letters, and keep it under the radar.

Absolutely !!!!
NATO as constituted is obsolete! Something like this should be formed maybe even include the Central Europeans and the Scandinavian countries. A reformulated Atlantic alliance made up of actual Atlantic countries can be a friendly observer.

Polish President Andrzej Duda is thinking about all those Americans that Biden abandoned in Afghanistan and left weapons behind for the enemy and when he was VP under obama who stopped the rescue of over 40 Americans in Benghazi.
