Anchorage Democrat Elvi Gray-Jackson said Friday that she is ending her run for U.S. Senate in Alaska and instead will seek reelection to the state Senate.
Gray-Jackson, in a statement released by her campaign, said that as first-quarter fundraising concludes “and after some deep reflection on our current system and the monumental expenses necessary to run a successful campaign, I have decided that my best efforts to change that system and to change Alaska will be done in the Senate in Juneau.”
Gray-Jackson had been the only Democrat who had so far filed to run for the U.S. Senate seat, which is held by Republican Lisa Murkowski. Gray-Jackson had filed as a candidate last month. Gray-Jackson had filed as a candidate last month.
Samantha Keitt, who had been a spokesperson for Gray-Jackson’s U.S. Senate campaign, said the timing of when Gray-Jackson would file paperwork to make the changes was being finalized.

Just like Liz Cheney in Wyoming, Lisa Murkowski needs Democrats to vote for her to be reelected.
I wonder what her internal pops show.
Lisa is the democrats best friend.
Another Democrap that wants to change the system. Just like Obama-Biden
Is the gope backing Lisa m? And does that m an anyone opposing her will now be independent.
Screw the nrsc for they play game.
Their having the likes of mitch mcconnell in their mist and with the majority of the rest of them being disappointments when needed this has made me go independent ever since they railroad cheated Trump in the 2020 steal
If Trump’s pick is anywhere close, I would love to see him fly up there and campaign for her.
Doesn’t AK have ranked ballots now? Won’t Murkowski want high Dem turnout?
Got a fund raising letter from Ronna M this week.
You have been selected to represent ...
Also give some money.
I will be burning it later with my brush.
Alaska has both RCV and RCV-enabled voting machines.
Murky ain’t going anywhere unless Alaskans get rid of both of those, or Deep State wants her gone.
Sounds like the democrat got an offer that she couldn’t refuse.
It,will,be a great day for this country when Lisa, Collins and ilk are removed from their jobs and replaced with actual Republicans who care deeply about this country and not, just about enriching th3mselves and their friends while e “getting is good” as they say
That was before Trump. He can electrify the base like no other. He hasn't begun to campaign for Murky's challenger. The turnout will be greater than the cheat algorithm.
This is what the RINOs fear. Their grift of running three stooge candidate to dilute the vote of the true conservative won't work if Trump makes an endorsement and holds rallies for the challenger.
Ditto for Lizard Cheney.
I've never seen a voting machine in Alaska and I've been voting since 1972. Votes are tabulated by machine, but voting is done via paper ballot.
You are correct. With ranked choice voting, Murky is sadly a shoe-in. Too many idiots will put Murky down as a second choice, many Dims will put her are first choice, because there is no way they want a conservative to get that seat.
Why do you think the RCV provisions were put in HR1 and other huge bills...

The above goes into how it’s done.
I know the thought of Murkowski getting re-elected excites the Surrender Monkey Caucus here at F R but this is another crash and burn.
By the time Alaska’s primary comes around (an insane August 16) Trump will be so strong that he will be in Alaska for a week and hit five rallies to to nail her hide to a tree AND he will.
Stop crying gang - maybe the Republicans will lose another re-districting case soon - that’ll cheer you up.
I’ve never seen a voting machine in Alaska and I’ve been voting since 1972. Votes are tabulated by machine, but voting is done via paper ballot.
You describe optical scanner machines. If the State did not already have them, they will be getting RCV progamable machines.
For statewide votes, the cards will get delivered to Juneau to be processed. They have to get everything in one place to do the ranking process.
It will be a moot point if one candidate get over 50%. With a Gubentorial, Senate and state wide house race, it is unlikely that all three winners will get over 50%.
