some weener boy on this forum told me today his nohphew went to dc and opened his attaché case to give a PRESENTATION to the admirals
and congress critters..

you know, I successfully actually avoided the place I went to high school there. (Fairfax County, VA.) My dad was at the Pentagon then. Back then, the drinking age in Virginia was 21 and it was 18 across the river in DC. We used to go to some fun venues in Georgetown and Adams Morgan to hear really good live music and dance. I think one of our old haunts, the 930 Club, might still be there. In the late 70s and into the 80s, DC was a good time.
Even after I moved to Houston as a young adult, I went back to DC at least once a year, often twice. My folks and siblings were still there as well as close friends. Fond memories.
Now, I have no desire to set foot in the District.
