SALT LAKE CITY — As expected, the Utah Legislature voted Friday to override Gov. Spencer Cox's veto of a bill banning transgender girls from participating in female school sports. After passionate debate and protests from Democrats, the GOP-controlled House voted 56-18, the supermajority needed, to override Cox's veto. Soon after, the Senate voted 21-8 to give final approval to the override. Four Republican lawmakers from both bodies needed to switch their initial votes in opposition to HB11 to support the override. When the vote came, enough did.
So, the state reps are for NOT banning trans freaks from competition with normal females?

The problem in this entire situation was Cox.
The Utah State Legislature has their heads screwed on straight. They are not buying this homosexual crap about letting queer men compete with normal women and that is great!

Where is the legal discrimination?
Nobody is being banned from sports competition. What these laws are doing, is saying that biological males, must compete with the boys teams.
The media make is sound as if “transsexual” people are being banned from sports. That is not the situation. The situation is that they are being told that you must compete with others of the same biological sex.
So based on that, I just don’t understand how there is any legal discrimination going on.
I’m sure the liberals will think of something, I’m just saying I fail to see anything discriminatory with these laws.
Yep he’s bent over backwards on this issue, presumeably to prove to Democrats or moderate/independent voters that he is liberal, under the presumption that only some sort of bigot agrees with this legislation. Politically this means the end for him.
Maybe he dreams he will be in an updated version of “Profiles in Courage” for taking a liberal stand on an issue he believes is some great “civil rights” issue for the “LGBT” types.
Yes indeed, Cox really makes me sick, only good thing is he beat the slightly worse Huntsman.
