Presidents have initiated military action without a declaration of war since George Washington. People unfortunately misunderstand the whole topic.

Love the way he tells the whole world about our troop movements.
that is exactly how he got all those seals killed in Afghanistan.
what a douche.

World War One and World War Two come to mind. Of course there was a smattering of combat in Hawaii on Dec. 7. I suppose it would have been better to wait for Congressional action?

You first Brandon.

I thought this was satire or something like the Bee, but nope, he said exactly what’s in the headline.

Go get em!! You're kidding? Start WWIII? Sending U.S. Army troops is not the same as sending M-16s.

Congress is filled with warmongers—let them go to the Ukraine and fight.
We can promise them a wonderful state funeral.

I think everyone on the left side of the aisle of the House on the Hill should be the first boots on the ground in the Ukraine and every one of them should be required to carry a book of THEIR ROEs that THEY created with them.

“When did Congress vote on declaring war?”
Congress abdicated their Constitutional authority to declare war with the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) and the subsequent 2002 Iraq AUMF. Neither authorization has been revoked and both have been twisted around to justify ongoing attacks against Syria in support of a gas pipeline.
While I am in favor of supporting Ukraine I am also in favor of Congress resuming their role as the check and balance on arbitrary use of force by the Executive Branch.

This was a Campaign from the beginning. They knew it would be easy to get people outraged and riled at Putin.
The crazy, over the top, emotional reporting from day one centered on the Pentagon.
They already used it to spend about $2 Trillion!

How many Ukrainians have left the country, Joe? 4 million? 5? I’m not judging them. Just pointing out that women & children ARE leaving the country... and in large numbers.
