I think this is the reason why the definition that I tried to paraphrase refers to gametes and not chromosomes.
Like the article says “they have a womb, so with appropriate hormone treatment and fertilized egg implantation they can actually become pregnant and give birth”.
So they don’t actually have egg cells of their own, but it certainly is trickier because they do have a womb.
I think these people have had an accident at birth and are not at fault.
On the other hand the a-hole activists largely don’t have had such accident and are just bullshitting.
I don’t know what is right here.
I think the current woke BS obfuscates a real problem in the definition for some
I am over producing sex steroids so I have experienced the kinds of questions to try to determine what the heck is wrong with me that doesn’t fit neatly into one category.
Ovarian cancer... Congenital adrenal hyperplasia..acquired adrenal hyperplasia ..adrenal mass...intersex..etc.
If my sex steroids where higher than what they are I could see why someone might identify as a male but have boobs. I am growing a damn beard like a man but not quite at the same rate of hair growth
There is no question that I am a female but I can see where the line might get blurry
This is biological related..not talking about some guy who just feels he is a female and wants a sex change
Of those in casual sex classification may go astray, “intersex”, the largest by far types confused in either direction are hormonal problems. In adrenal hyperplasia of either the congenital (more severe) or late onset types a girl makes too much male hormones which morph her into looking pseudo masculine. My understanding is it can be treated, although improved treatments may be desirable and starting treatment earlier when possible may help. In androgen insensitivity an XY “boy” makes normal boy hormones but they don’t work due to a broken receptor. They end up looking externally female, but lacking the internal female parts. They’re surprised when puberty isn’t normal. And if their gonads ever turn cancerous they’re really surprised when the diagnosis is not ovarian but testicular cancer. I don’t think specific medical treatment exists for that. How to handle them is philosophically tough.
