The U.S. is sending some of the Soviet-made air defense equipment it secretly acquired decades ago to bolster the Ukrainian military as it seeks to fend off Russian air and missile attacks, U.S. officials said.
The systems, which one U.S. official said include the SA-8, are decades old and were obtained by the U.S. so it could examine the technology used by the Russian military and which Moscow has exported around the world.
The weapons are familiar to Ukraine’s military, which inherited this type of equipment following the breakup of the Soviet Union.

"The secretive efforts received public attention in 1994 when a Soviet-made transport plane was observed at the Huntsville, Ala., airport within sight of a major highway. It was later disclosed that the plane was carrying an S-300 air defense system that the U.S. had acquired in Belarus as part of a clandestine project involving a Pentagon contractor that cost $100 million, according to a former official involved in the mission."
Just no boots on the ground. The U.S. military is way too soft to be involved in a land war with Russia.

Why can they not send the Migs then....
Besides that our scroungers rounded up a bunch of Sadam’s stuff——a bunch wound up at Ft Irwin.
This is a joke right or sarcasm I hope? 20 years at war and an NCO corp of battle hardened veterans with the worlds best equipment. Most experts think Russia without running home to Mommy and using nukes would stand little chance against NATO. Would not be easy but we could have M1A1s in Moscow in no time. Putin knows this, we'd have air superiority over most of Ukraine in weeks and most of their serviceable armor would be hulking wrecks not to mention most of their Black Sea fleet becoming artificial reefs fairly quickly. China even worse, most badly trained conscripts good at parades but probably not good in situations where situational awareness and flexibility is needed on the battlefield.
After this every country in eastern Europe will want something like Israel’s ‘Iron Dome’.
Send the Ukraine the uranium Canada bought from Iraq that we were told many times that Saddam didn’t have. LOL
Systems but likely no missiles - let’s hope the UA has some squirreled away
Are we at war with Russia?
Oh. So decades old Russian SAM systems have been kept in good working order?
I agree. Russia has no chance in a conventional war with NATO, which is why Putin quickly exposed the nuke card. And Chinese troops got their @$$es kicked by Indian troops in border skirmishes a few years ago.
M1A1s

Most of those are retired, parted out or upgraded. M1A2 Sep v3 & Sep v4 are the latest.
Maybe we’ve got a sh*tload of old 45/70 Springfields we can crate up and send over. Or some puttee wraps from WW1...
The stupid burns...
No US boots on the ground, and luckily for the Russians. 1 Armored Brigade would devastate a Russian division and make quick work of them.
OBAMA sent blankets.
China and Russia send ocean going tugs with their “fleets”. When I look at consumer products Chinese stuff is still generally very poor quality. Chinese auto parts are terrible.
There is no magic formula that would have the same p!$$ poor crap economy build top notch military hardware. Just look at the building construction in China. Twenty year old buildings look like 100 year old western construction at best.
I have a couple of trapdoor 45-70s my Dad left me. Slow reloading but don’t get hit by those 1400fps 405 gr bullets. Lol.
I inherited a trapdoor .45-70 and it sounds like a cannon when I fire it. I read somewhere that the slug will penetrate 8” of hardwood at 2 miles out!!
