Putin is no way as bad as Pol Pot.

Not as bad as Pol Pot yet but...Putin is threatening all-out nuclear war and even preaching to his countryman that we have nothing to fear because “We will go to Heavan. The others will not and they will have no time to repent.” I’m surprised at his long table photos where he sits 20 feet away from who he is meeting. Such photographs show him in a very bad light as a paranoid and yet he is not aware enough to suppress the photos.

When Putin begins slaughtering his own people, they he will be as bad. I’ve read about Pol Pot. Stalin would be more akin to him than Putin is.

The sad part was that Putin really did get some positive things done. He did reverse the economic slump in post-Soviet Russia. He did get its agriculture fixed.
He screwed up with its economic model, and its dependence on extractive industries in the hands of a new princely class, but on the whole he was a net plus, right up to 2014. If he’d done just a US 8-year term like a US president, and gone on to live in his dachas and yachts, he would be looked on kindly, everywhere.

I don’t think his decisions are based on if he’s dying or not.

IMHO, Putin is basically the typical Tsar, like every one of his predecessors for the last 1,000 years. In the age of kings, once they judged their grip on power stable, monarchs would venture forth to make their name. Russia has 4 rulers with “the Great” attached to their names - Vladimir, Ivan, Peter and Catherine. Putin hopes to be Vladimir the Greater. Rulers with the Great attached to their names are generally known mainly for one thing - adding land to the empire. Putin’s claim to fame, if he succeeds, will be the annexation of Ukraine (and maybe more). We’ll see if he succeeds in this venture soon enough.

His wardrobe is still less than AOC’s. And really, An £8800 watch really isn’t that much for a man of his stature. A nice Rolex will start at that. The old Datejust I got for graduation is worth more than that.
