Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has questioned the West’s strategy of taking military action against Russia off the table in the conflict in Ukraine, arguing that the punitive sanctions taken against Vladimir Putin’s regime have failed to detering the ongoing war.
Writing in a blog post for the Tony Blair Institute, the Iraq War architect questioned whether it was “sensible” to rule out the military option against Russia, despite concerns that such actions could trigger a third World War over the former Soviet territory.
While Blair said that he “understands and accepts” that there is no political will for military engagement from the West against Russia, he claimed that Putin is using the “desire not to provoke escalation” as a bargaining chip against NATO.

I am NOT saying NATO should use military action, but it shouldn’t be publicly ruled out.

Saddam was in violation of the terms of the ceasefire which ended the first gulf war. Sadly, feckless bill was more interested in bombing Serbian civilians than enforcing the ceasefire, and it was left to bush the younger to straighten it out.

Blair thinks that if a war starts, the UK will be far enough behind lines that they won’t be bombed and if they do, the US will pull their fat out of the fire. Again.

NATO is a means to keep the US supporting the defense of western Europe. Where ARE the NATO countries commitments to defend Ukraine? Why is the US the only nation expecting to establish a no-fly zone? It has been reported that some NATO nations sold huge amounts of weapons to Russia just before the invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, Germany makes a backdoor deal with Russia because their “Green Energy” policies have failed miserably and they need energy from Russia. If not for President Trump, we would never know about Merkel’s pipeline with Russia. In addition, the US was the only nation earnestly paying the tab for NATO nation’s defense as the NATO nations spend their money for socialism and green energy. The lack of LEADERSHIP at the highest levels in the US - Biden Oligarchy of clowns - is a principle reason for Putin’s actions.
