When I went through ROTC training we were were obviously taught to respect the numerical superiority of the Soviet bloc Armour units deployed across the Iron Curtain. But I remember some of our NCO instructors mentioned that Russian enlisted personnel lacked strong NCO guidance....that they were heavily dependent on top-down leadership. After all these years...this holds true today.

The US its job...Biden just sold it out. US lasted longer in Afghanistan than the mongoloid Russians did.
It’s funny watching these Putin jackboot lickers, and their delusions regarding how the US is just as bad as Russia etc.
They are sooo pulling for Putin and so demoralized that Russia is struggling. But remember they all swore that the Russians were merely running military training exercises.
LiberalTarians are far worse than Leftists and much weaker than Biden.
[These people act as if history doesn’t exist.
Russia could flatten Uke in a day if it wanted to. Remember Chechnya? That it has chosen not to is NOT proof it can’t.]

This campaign has already cost Russia that number of dead, and it’s only 3 weeks in. Note that Russia embarked on the Second Chechen War after Putin kicked off a false flag series of apartment bombings in Moscow, thereby giving himself a solid base of support among the Russian public for the sacrifices to come.

Whereas the “special mission” in Ukraine, from the start, has been widely panned by Putin-friendly oligarchs and street protestors alike.
Most libertarians I know hate Putin and his one party govt
Sounds like you are happy the US failed in Afghanistan. Can we buy you a ticket to Russia? You can send your kids to Putin’s commie summer camps where kids are encouraged to get pregnant.
Who cares about outlasting. Afghanistan occupation was a fools errand for Soviets and Americans. English could have told them that.
Perhaps real Libertarians. But, these FR liberaltarians are more of the AlexJones and insane types.
Useful idiots for Putin.
And when the Home Team has Javelin’s for armor and Stingers for Attack Aircraft it’s called stalemate.
Uke / US / NATO claims are as verifiable and believable as those coming out of the Kremlin. It is all propaganda.
You say 7,000 dead russian soldiers? Maybe, but in the day where literally everyone has a cell phone camera and working internet [which Uke does], and in the absence of an avalanche of unique photos and videos, I’d say that is as likely as a congressman getting spit on and called a n*g**r while walking to vote for obamacare. [No-one claimed the $1,000,000 bounty for proof of that one!]
“U.S Afghanistan success story.”
Our troops never lost that war. They won it. And the political leadership threw it all away.
Not this commie crap again. Putin was appointed by a non communist. He is a nationalist dictatorial type. So what he was in the kgb. Bush Sr was in the CIA. A new world order groupie. He said so himself. Commies are lining up to support ukraine. The commie press. Celebrities. Doesn’t that pique your interest as to why
1) Insufficient troops. Bluntly put, 150-200k troops (of which likely less than a third are actual combat arms soldiers) is not nearly enough to defeat a country the size of Ukraine unless the Ukrainian will to resist was low. It wasn't, so....
2) Poorly-trained/motivated conscripts. Draftees can fight well when motivated by a true sense of national necessity, and when given sufficient training. But 12 month conscripts -- which is barely time to figure out how to use your equipment correctly -- invading a country whom most of them likely considered a friendly neighbor -- is dicey at best. Like drafting a bunch of American kids to go invade Canada.; 3) Crappy logistics/maintenance. This has never been a Russian strong suit, and given the levels of corruption in their military, they likely lack sufficient space parts and other supplies.
None of these things were unknown, or should come as a real surprise to anyone familiar with the Russian military. Of course, none of these problems would have mattered much or been exposed if Ukraine had simply given up or sough terms as quickly as many expected.
Germany lost ww1 and Hitler did the old ‘we woz backstabbed’ routine to explain the loss. Fact is the U.S overstayed in Afghancrapistan because of pipe dreams about turning the brutes into suburban Americans.
Calling up the last remaining active RGF personnel, the Pacific Region Marines and Naval Detachments, the Far West Regiments, as well as recruiting Syrian and more Chechens, failure to use their heavy bomber fleet, is overwhelming proof they cannot flatten the Ukraine - short of using tactical nukes.
Yeah all 300 of them
Ridiculous comparison. Ukraine is 30X larger and has 30X the population of Chechnya. Ukraine's second largest city Kharkiv has a larger population than the entire country of Chechnya. Grozny was a small city of 200,000. Ukraine is not remotely comparable to Chechnya. It's like comparing China to Hong Kong.
Agreed it isn’t Chechnya or Syria. There the russkies were fighting mostly goat-herders, living in mud huts, and used to deprivation and living off the land. That actually made them much tougher to defeat.
Ukes are 2nd world Euro’s hoping for a western luxury lifestyle. Most of the population are apartment dwellers. Not really a good pool for large numbers of new recruits.
It seems obvious that they are holding back. I’m thinking this is rope a dope.
Ugly reply. There are literally hundreds no thousands of images of vehicles and bodies
Stop shilling for Putin.
