Russia began the war in Ukraine with the world’s largest tank force, but the losses it has suffered reveal its weaknesses on the modern battlefield.
Moscow’s forces have lost more than 230 of the heavily armored tracked vehicles since they invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, according to Oryx Blog, an open-source site that tracks military-equipment losses. Many were destroyed. Others were abandoned, captured or damaged, Oryx says.

Highly doubtful. 😉
When this war ends, it’s going to be a field day for scrappers...
More agitprop written for Russian troops to read.
“When this war ends, it’s going to be a field day for scrappers...”
A lot of fortunes were made after WWII for that very reason.
Paint them bright colors and you have lawn art.
Russia threatened Ukraine holding a pair of duces. Zelensky called his hand.
I keep asking myself, when this is all over who will pay for the rebuilding of Ukraine? Hmmmmm?
You know the answer...The American Taxpayer
Very skeptical about these reports. Military think tans contradict this.
“Highly doubtful. “
You should stop following the MSM. All these loses documented with photos/video of every Russian tank destroyed:

Just buy up scrap liberty ships and start a shipping business.
There are frozen Russian assets worth billions of dollars which may be used as a reparation to rebuild Ukraine.
“Just buy up scrap liberty ships and start a shipping business.”
Aristotle Onassis.
American tax payers. Count on it. In fact, better than that, bank on it. It has already been decided. Each block, brick, and all building material will be 1oo times its actual cost. Half of the overprice will go to the coffers of the DNC. The other half will be split among Congress. It is the American way.

There’s an old poker saying. If you can’t tell who the sucker is at the poker table, it’s you. Well, at this poker table we have Putin, Zelenskyy, and the American taxpayer.
We are learning a lot about modern war by watching this conflict.
Before Ukraine the consensus was that the future of war was drones, cyber, MRAPs, and rockets.
Those have played a role, but it turns out the future is all about infantry.
An individual soldier with a MANPAD can take out a jet flying at 20,000 feet. One with an ATGM can destroy any vehicle within 3 miles. That is a fundamental change to the nature of war that is making a lot of what is in every arsenal seem obsolete.
Trump’s Javelins stopped the Russians cold.
Add to them the Stingers, high tech bazookas, and drones, and they turn armor into scrap metal. It’s still a tough fight, Russians have stand-off weapons, artillery, cruise missiles, and can level a town without exposing themselves.
But the lines haven’t moved in two weeks.
Not really.
The era of using tanks as Putin is doing here died with effective infantry weapons against them.
They will always have a place, but Russia is using them like it’s still WWII.
The Russians are capable of massing enough armor to achieve breakthroughs on a tactical level. But lack of training, communication, and logistics mean those breakthroughs cannot be exploited and raised to the operational level. This leaves the tanks being used a la WWI simply as infantry support, where they are picked off by opposing infantry with ATGMs, break down, or sink up their hulls in the mud.
