Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky begged Congress early Wednesday morning for a no-fly zone, appealing for greater action from the legislative body to authorize harsher sanctions and bolstered defenses of embattled Ukraine.
During the speech before congressional members, Zelensky invoked the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor that launched the US into World War II, as well as the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, which ignited a war in the Middle East. Zelensky even invoked the words of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The joint session of Congress stood and cheered as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi congratulated Zelensky for demonstrating "courageous leadership" during Russia's military aggression. Zelensky urged President Joe Biden to not just be the commander-in-chief of the United States, but also "to be the leader of the world"
"Just applause? [I]t's hypocritical. If the US really wants to show justice, it should send troops to Ukraine, or at least set up a no-fly zone, and fight Putin's troops directly, even [if] that means sacrifice of US soldiers. Don't just incite Ukrainians to die for American interest," Global Times commentator Hu Xijin responded.

Almost comical, how tough it is for folks to remember even recent history. We had five years of constant "Russia evil! Trump evil!" narrative, courtesy of the Democrat/corporate/media "collusion" hoax. FIVE YEARS! Now the exact same Dem establishment/Deep State crew is screaming "Russia evil! Trump's fault!" - and half the country (including a bunch of GOP & Freepers) sees no connection.
Makes you wonder if it's mass hysteria, "covid brain", or some other sort of collective amnesia, that caused them to park their common sense somewhere, and start screaming for World War Three...

Would make sense. Kind of sucks to have a hollowed out military barely able to meet its commitments, and then sending them off to protect the main funding source of the DNC.

Mind boggling. One would think there would be at least a bit of SKEPTICISM when, literally, everyone we hate lines up one way.
Last week a former NYT reporter was killed at a checkpoint in a city controlled entirely by Ukrainians. The Ukrainian mayor of this Ukrainian city said, "The Russians did it!" A thousand MSM sources parroted his claim with no further confirmation. A million Twitter bluechecks parroted this claim with no further confirmation.
And FR ate it up. "Putin is killing American reporters!" They said.
A simplest application of Occam's razor tells us that untrained, trigger-happy Ukrainian militia were the most likely culprits. Not the Russians who were nowhere near this checkpoint.
People here don't want to hear it! "Putin bootlicker!" we're called as they repeat talking points from the same MSM that blew smoke up our asses for the past six years.
The same Free Republic that spent years hammering John McCain as a neocon warmonger are totally dismissive of his efforts to illegally overthrow the fairly-elected President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovich.

The same people who claim Yanukovich was corrupt are the same people who later said Donald Trump was corrupt.

So what? Should he have been pro Obama/McCain/Hillary/Angela Merkel?
Yanokovich's crime was winning against Yulia Tymoshenko despite the wailing and gnashing of teeth from Western liberals who wanted her to win. And then Yanukovich followed up on his campaign promise to "lock her up!" and literally threw her in prison for corruption.
"Yanukovich killed his own people!" They tell us. Yet if Trump called out the National Guard on Antifa and BLM protestors, everyone here would've cheered.
"The Donbas had no right to secede!" they tell us, as they post on FR that it's long past time for blue states and red states to go their separate ways.
It's just so unbelievable.
The European border with Russia will be Poland instead of Ukraine.
