Putin is a serial murderer, and hopefully he will be gone soon.

Reagan was talking about Communism, an internationalist, totalitarian ideology.

I voted for Reagan. But the time for Reagan ended with the fall of Communism.

Since 1991, the proper foreign policy was America First (i.e., sever ties with our "allies," as allies are only temporary conveniences in times of war). Focus on domestic issues. Fight the culture war.

Unfortunately, since 1991, the Neocons have promoted globalism, foreign wars, open borders, and LGBT.

Think how much better our nation would be if Pat Buchanan had won the presidency in 1992. He would have focused on securing the borders, fighting the culture wars, and shutting down overseas military bases and interventions.

In one of Reagan’s first cabinet meetings about the Soviet Union, discussion went on for about an hour, the usual stuff how we had to be careful, nukes, yada, yada, yada. One cabinet member said “Mr. President, what do you think?”. His reply was “WE WIN, THEY LOSE”. Reagan was not mentally and morally confused as so many are today. You oppose evil, you work to destroy it. WE WIN, THEY LOSE, MAKE IT HAPPEN.

That simple but very clear reply set the tone. The rest is history.

‘Putin says the West’s ‘attempt to have global dominance’ is coming to an end and it is trying to ‘cancel Russia’ with ‘economic blitzkrieg’ of sanctions’

If he did say this, he’s not too far off mark. The world has changed since the USSR collapsed and the US started it’s descent into wokeness.

The old USSR didn’t need to bury the US, we’re doing it from within.
Russia has no interest in such nonsense like “a man is a woman if he claims to be”, for example. They won’t kneel before a group of people running around burning down their cities. Putin knows the difference between the real world and the social media world.

That the whole Ukraine thing is about who gets to be the (or “a”) dominant world power is obvious.

That the US is trying to cancel Russia as it does with climate and covid “deniers” is incredibly obvious.

The “Covid crisis” has been swapped out for the “Putin Crisis”, with Zelinskyy taking Fauci’s place as the holy man-savior.

You can say that Putin’s not a nice guy and you’d be right, but he’s just not way off if he actually said this.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh shore, bud. Shore.

Russia will “hurt” us. I know I’m still reeling from all those western sanctions levied decades ago on N. Korea.... LOL!

Russia can hardly “hurt” anyone. It has virtually no economic power. Russia is barely a blip on the global economic stage.

On the global stage, it is now in N. Korea’s league.

Our empire cost us our Republic.

I usually loath comparisons to the ‘fall’ of Rome, most of the time people promulgating about the ‘fall’ think that hordes of goths sacked the civilized world in 476, amongst other cases of bad teaching and bad history when I hear most people say “History teaches..”

But one comparison I do think apt, if more subtle. A Republic really only works for a singular people. A Republic requires a cultural homogeneity regarding language, borders, culture, and values.

You can have an empire, or a Republic.

After WW2, we chose empire. Arguably in response to the USSR, possibly at the manipulative behest of some shadowy nascent ‘deep state’ as well, maybe with the contribution of the hubris of our victory in the war, probably a combination of those and the sheer energy of our capitalist system still intact with a lot of the rest of the world shattered.

But we lost our Republic when we gained an empire. A Republic requires those ruled by it to take seriously their roles in it; conquered or colonized peoples don’t, won’t, and have no reason to believe and behave in accordance with the ideals of our founders (nor do a whole lot of residents and ‘citizens’).

800 or so bases in 80 or so countries is not a Republic; it might be a necessity in a cold war (or post cold war, or neo cold war) globalized world with fanatic ideologies and deadly weapons unimagined by our Founding Fathers, but if we want to restore the empire, we have to give up on nation building, regime change and ‘Free Trade’ that drives down the wages of our workers to the point of competition with peoples who don’t have our values and ethos.

“I’m old school. If you always aid and support my enemies, you are my enemy.”

The United States just aided ISIS/Muslims by giving them over $85 billion in military aid.

I wasn’t referring to Russia’s “sanctions” - they’re meaningless.

I was referring to the effect of Bidet’s sanctions on the American economy, American firms and workers.

Maybe learn some economic history instead of being a LOLtard.

Actually guy, that’s the point of the sanctions. You don’t like it? Leave Ukraine.

Unquestionably, they do. Do you realize how much bigger the US economy is than Russia’s?

The economic pain will be far greater in dollar impact in the US than in Russia. The spillover effect to emerging markets not covered in the sanctions will have even bigger consequences in those countries. They are counterproductive.

Typical liberal: Trying to change the subject when your argument fails you.

You claimed anyone aiding your enemies would be an enemy, so I pointed out that the US aided ISIS, an enemy, which makes the US your enemy. I guess you didn’t like that.

The best "sanctions" we can do against Russia is to be energy independent and export energy (like we did under Trump).

When dealing with Russia it's #1 about energy policy -- always has been, always will be. The argument of whether or not to do "sanctions" is kid talk and nothing but distraction.

When someone says "should we do sanctions on Russia?" the response should be "drill, baby, drill".
When someone says "should we help Ukraine?" the response should be "drill, baby, drill".
When someone says "what about missile treaties with Russia?" the response should be "drill, baby, drill".
When someone says "what about the Russia/China alliance?" the response should be "drill, baby, drill".

The US in cancelling itself just fine. Gender changing and a low birthrate, and run by globalist fools. Border is wide open. But we want to beat our shrinking breasts at others.
